    摘要: An optical-fiber incorporated longer-sized subaqueous unit comprises optical fiber units arranged inside or outside a plastic sheath provided on the periphery of the core body of the longer-sized subaqueous unit such as power cable core or water supply tube. Each optical fiber unit includes an optical fiber accommodated in a metal pipe having on its periphery a coating layer made of plastic material with a melting point higher than that of the material of the plastic sheath, and armoring iron wire bundles are further provided outside the plastic sheath on the periphery of the core body, thereby preventing any buckling in the optical fiber units.

    摘要: An explosion-proof switchgear apparatus comprises an enclosure housing a carriage mounted on a guide and coupled by a pivot pin to a chassis which accommodates electric devices and the movable part of a separable contact system whose fixed part is secured to the enclosure for interaction with the movable part. The apparatus includes a coupling unit mounted on the pivot pin and it is secured to the chassis whose opposite end has a vertical slot. The apparatus is also provided with a guiding retainer means installed at the same enclosure portion, where the fixed part of the separable contact system is mounted, and received into the vertical slot.

    摘要: A modified magne-blast vertical racking circuit breaker modified to accept vacuum circuit breakers. The main frame of the magne-blast unit is modified to accept the vacuum breaker operating mechanism and vacuum interrupters, which are connected to the load and line stabs of the magne-blast unit. A mechanism operated cell operator is mounted above the vacuum breaker operating mechanism, and the mechanism is modified to accept an interlock switch which is positioned to engage the switch gear associated with the magne-blast breaker. The unit also includes a surge suppressor mounted on the main frame. The modification method includes the removal of the arc chutes, blowout coils, blowout cores, contact arm assemblies, booster cylinders and main operating crank, and replacing them with the vacuum interrupters; the magne-blast operating mechanism is also replaced by the vacuum interrupter operating mechanism. The surge suppressor is mounted in space previously occupied by the arc chutes such that the modified unit can be received in the magne-blast metal-clad switchgear.

    摘要: A switchgear unit comprises a cubicle having two groups of stationary disconnect contacts and two shutters for controlling access to the stationary contacts. The shutters are pivotally mounted on the cubicle for motion about vertically spaced horizontal axes between blocking and nonblocking positions with respect to the contacts. A linkage interconnecting the two shutters causes pivotal motion thereof to occur in unison and in opposite angular directions with respect to each other. The weight of one pivotally mounted shutter counterbalances the weight of the other during their oppositely directed movement between blocking and nonblocking positions, thus reducing the force needed to operate the pivotally mounted shutters.

    摘要: A grounding switch device is provided capable of utilizing the same type of mechanism as a circuit breaker, and adapted for substitution for the circuit breaker structure in metal-clad switchgear equipment. Each pole-unit is provided with a selector switch capable of being manually positioned in either one of two positions, for grounding either the line terminal or the bus terminal, and, additionally, the pole-unit includes a grounding switch capable of being actuated by the quick-acting circuit breaker type of operating mechanism. The grounding device is of the same dimensions and can be rolled into the same cell structure of the metal-clad switchgear equipment which accommodates the circuit breaker unit.
