The method for forming electrodes in the PDP includes a base layer formation step for forming a base layer containing metal oxides on a glass substrate, a precipitation promoting step for depositing palladium on regions of the base layer where a metal layer will be formed, and a step for forming the metal layer on the regions. The metal oxides contained in the base layer is preferably made of one or more metal oxides selected out of nickel oxide, cobalt oxide, iron oxide, zinc oxide, indium oxide, copper oxide, titanium oxide, praseodymium oxide, and silicon oxide.

    摘要: The wirings on an electron source substrate are formed to intersect with each other in a matrix so as to address the electron emission devices on the substrate. First and second wirings intersect with each other on a crossing point. As such a crossing point, an insulating layer is placed between the first and second wirings. To ensure insulation, a plurality of insulating layers are laminated. According to the present invention, a wiring pattern is provided on the substrate with a conductive paste and baking the wiring pattern of the conductive paste to form the first wiring. Subsequently part of the first wiring is coated at the crossing point with an insulating paste and baking the insulating paste to form a first insulating layer. The coating thickness of the insulating layer formed adjacent to sidewalls of the crossing point is substanially equal to the height of the first wiring.

In the discharge lamp the content of hydrogen, oxygen and their compounds existing in the light-emitting portion is such that the maximum intensity of the light-emitting spectral intensities of the above impurities is {fraction (1/1000)} or less of the intensity of the main light-emitting spectrum of the noble gas when glow discharge occurs by supplying a current of 3 mA, and also the content of OH groups included in the quartz glass of the sealing portions is 5 ppm or less by weight.

To produce a patterned calcined inorganic film without inducing warpage, shrinkage of line width, or breakage of patterned lines, a patterned film formed on a substrate with a composition containing a heat decomposable binder and particles of an inorganic material is covered, prior to the calcining step, with a coating film of a heat decomposable resin composition capable of hardening or drying at a temperature lower than the temperature at which the heat decomposable binder is thermally decomposed and further capable of being burned off below the highest temperature of the calcining profile and thereafter the calcining step is performed.

    摘要: A plasma display having a transparent front panel spaced from a back panel which is a metal core having layers of a dielectric material extending over and bonded to the core. Conductive electrodes are on the surface of or imbedded in the dielectric layer of the back panel. The materials of which the back panel is made are chosen to form a back panel having a thermal coefficient of expansion compatible with that of the front panel. Barrier ribs are formed on the back panel by embossing the green tape before cofiring the bonded assembly. The green tape is embossed using pulsed pressure and an embossing tool that is formed by assembling embossing members and spacing members in compression. The embossing tool further includes elastic spacers mounted outside of the embossing tool and in a position such that the elastic spacers are held in compression during the embossing operation to aid in releasing the embossed green tape from the embossing tool after the embossing operation.
