Abstract: A phasor measurement unit (PMU) of the present disclosure measures phasor, i.e., magnitude and phase angle of voltage and current, and related data from a specific location on the electrical gird synchronized to a common time source. The time-synchronized phasor is called a synchrophasor. In a system of the present disclosure, a plurality of PMUs transmit the synchrophasors and related data to a phasor data concentrator (PDC), which aggregates and time-aligns the data for real time and post analysis. The PMU of the present disclosure further functions as a power quality meter determining at least one of symmetrical components' phasor, frequency, rate of change of frequency, high-speed digital inputs, analog fundamental power and/or displacement power factor.

Abstract: A system includes three switches each having a single pole and dual throws. The respective single pole is on a supply side of the each respective switch. The controller may be configured to obtain information related to an operation of each of the plurality of loads from the processor, obtain the magnitude of the power input to each of the plurality of loads from each of the plurality of power sensors, and identify a load which operates abnormally among the plurality of loads based on the magnitude of the power input to each of the plurality of loads and the information related to the operation of each of the plurality of loads.

Abstract: A circuit includes a regulation module having a threshold input to receive a clamp threshold voltage and a feedback input to monitor a swing-limited output voltage. The regulation module generates a difference signal that indicates a difference between the clamp threshold voltage and the swing-limited output voltage. A current compensation module includes a clamp port and an input port. The clamp port to controls the swing-limited output voltage and the input port receives the difference signal. The clamp port generates an adjustment current to control the swing-limited output voltage based on the difference signal. An adjustment network receives an input voltage and the adjustment current from the clamp port. The adjustment current to generate a voltage across the adjustment network such that the swing-limited output voltage at the clamp port is adjusted within a voltage range of the input voltage.

Abstract: A system and method for determining whether a cryptographic system is being observed for power consumption analysis in an attempt to decipher secret keys. The system comprises a first external connection to receive an input voltage, an internal voltage regulator with an external capacitor to produce the desired voltage for the cryptographic system. The internal voltage regulator typically includes a switch that passes current from the first external connection to the external capacitor. By monitoring the frequency at which the switch is activated, it is possible to detect that an external voltage is being applied to the external capacitor. This external voltage is typically used to perform SPA or DPA operations. Thus, the cryptographic system may cease performing any encryption or decryption operations if an external voltage is detected.
