    摘要: A UV-transmissable window assembly for a DMD device includes a UV-transmissable glass window provided in a frame. The window and frame are bonded together to preferably effect a hermetic seal therebetween. Optical coatings specific to the intended wavelength of light transmission are applied to the inner and outer surfaces of the glass window to reduce reflection and increase light transmission therethrough. The window assembly, and DMD provided with the same, is adapted for excellent transmission of ultraviolet light, even at the deep ultraviolet portion of the spectrum. The DMD window assembly has application in the medical arts, both surgery and device manufacture, in the production of integrated circuits (IC), and in other optical lithography applications, among other fields.

A doping is provided for the capping layer and an artificial oxide layer is grown on the capping layer with the aid of hydrogen peroxide, in particular in the presence of a catalyst. The artificially grown oxide layer is more homogeneous than a naturally grown oxide and thereby improves optical properties of the mirror during a lithographic exposure of semiconductor products.

    摘要: A reflecting or transparent member such as a shower mirror having a hard surface is striated with a striating member sufficiently so that the surface is finely striated. The striating member has an abrasive surface that has a concentration of abrasives in the range of 100 to 500 grit. After the surface is striated, water is applied to the surface and the water coheres to the striations forming a thin lamina or sheet of water. The thin lamina prevents the condensation of water vapor on the surface when the temperature of the ambient air adjacent the surface falls below the dew-point.

    摘要: Optical systems for endoscopes, borescopes, dental scopes, and the like which are characterized by having three groups of lenses of positive optical power and an external entrance pupil. Typically, all three groups of lenses are displaced from the pupil and focal planes. As a consequence, the displaced groups take part in the image transfer as well as in the pupil transfer. The optical power requirements can thus be shifted from one group to another, distributing as well as reducing the overall power requirement. Moreover, the aberration correction can also be shared between these groups. The first group, which conventionally has the highest optical power, and consequently a large amount of aberrations to be corrected, can in this way transfer some of the optical aberration correction to the other groups. The sharing of the optical functions and aberration correction results in a fully integrated optical system. The reduction in the total amount of optical power is so large that a line-of-sight deviating prism can be readily accommodated between the entrance pupil and the first lens group. The resulting simplicity of the optical system makes it suitable as a disposable item.

    摘要: In one embodiment of the invention, a grating structure etched on a mirror substrate has a grating period causing diffracting, out of an optical path, a first incident radiation within a first band around a first wavelength. A multi-layer coating deposited on the grating structure reflects the first incident radiation, in the optical path, within the first band and a second incident radiation within a second band around a second wavelength. In another embodiment, a first multi-layer coating deposited on a mirror substrate reflects a first incident radiation within a first band around a first wavelength and a second incident radiation, in an optical path, within a second band around a second wavelength. A grating structure is deposited on the first multi-layer coating. The grating structure is etched to have a grating period causing diffracting, out of the optical path, the second incident radiation within the second band.
