    Abstract: Evaluating the performance of an X-ray tube by: recording arcing events that occurred during the use of the X-ray tube; classifying the arcing events by severity; generating, on the basis of the classified arcing events, a first growth pattern for occurrences of arcing events; and determining a level of bubbles in the X-ray tube by finding, on the basis of the first growth pattern, a matching second growth pattern associated with a known level of bubbles in the X-ray tube. An X-ray tube may be checked and replaced in a timely manner, without the need for an on-site inspection, by remotely predicting trends or patterns for growth of levels of bubbles in the X-ray tube.

    Abstract: A system and method of quantifying color and intensity of light sources including LEDs, HBLEDs (High Brightness LEDs), and other Solid State Lights (SSLs) using C-parameters to model a Spectral Power Distribution (SPD) to improve precision, accuracy, repeatability and usefulness of measurement of optical properties of wavelength and radiant flux in manufacturing of an object, designing products and processes that use the object, and describing/defining the object, is provided. In one embodiment, a method of characterizing a Solid State Light (SSL) source includes a SSL source under test (DUT), a Spectral Power Distribution (SPD) of light emission of the SSL source, a curve-fitting function, a set of configuration data comprising the order of the curve-fitting function, the number of nodes, wavelength boundary limits, saturation threshold, and noise floor threshold, a computing device for curve-fitting, node detection, iteration and program control and inputting and outputting data; and a set of C-Parameters, noise parameters, and confidence values.

    Abstract: A fluorescent lamp testing device 10 has a microcontroller 100 that controls tests for ballast discrimination as well as gas integrity, ballast operation, filament continuity and line voltage. The ballast discrimination test is performed by the microcontroller 100 in combination with a photodiode 30 and high/low pass filter 32. Gas integrity is tested with pulse width modulation and a high-voltage, step-up transformer (PWM/T) circuit 42 and an antenna 40. A built in continuity tester has input pins 52, 54 to test the continuity of the filaments in the fluorescent lamp 12. The antenna 40 and a voltage-divider/voltage-sensor connected to the secondary coil in the transformer test for ballast operation. A PCB conductive loop 18, rectifier 20 and op amp 22 test for line voltage.

    Abstract: A dielectric barrier discharge lamp lighting apparatus includes twenty-four dielectric barrier discharge lamps, and a ballast circuit for lighting the twenty-four dielectric barrier discharge lamps which includes a DC power supply, an inverter circuit, a step-up transformer, and a lighting lamp number detecting circuit.
