    Abstract: A net monitoring system, including: a plurality of net monitoring devices, each net monitoring device including: a housing; a plurality of tensioning arms, each tensioning arm reversibly extendable through the housing and configured to reversibly secure to a net, each tensioning arm including a force sensor configured to generate a tension signal indicative of a tension applied to the corresponding tensioning arm; a tensioning mechanism configured concurrently retract the plurality of tensioning arms into the housing; an impulse generating device, configured to generate an impulse responsive to a command; and a communications device configured to receive the tension signals from the plurality of force sensors, and transmit the tension signals through water; and a controller, configured to: command at least one of the plurality of net monitoring devices to generate the impulse; receive the tension signals responsive to the command to generate the impulse; and determine, based on the received tension signals, a presence of a defect in a net on which the plurality of net monitoring devices are installed.

    Abstract: In order to provide an improved and cost-efficient method and tool for performing a defect detection procedure aiming at the detection of a defect underneath an outer protection layer covering the leading edge of a wind turbine generator blade a method is described during which a tool tip is being biased against the surface of the outer protection layer while being guided over the outer protection layer and deviations in the uniformity of the at least one feedback value are sensed to identify potential defects. A tool and a detection unit suitable for the described method is also described.

    Abstract: A building quality inspection system includes a controller, a drone, and a robot that are communicably connected to one another. The controller includes circuitry configured to, when exterior of a building is inspected, sends an inspection objective to the drone to instruct the drone to carry out a visual inspection of the exterior of the building, receives inspection data collected by the drone during the visual inspection of the exterior of the building, extracts a location where damage is suspected from the inspection data collected by the drone, sends the location where damage is suspected to the robot to carry out an exterior inspection at the location where damage is suspected, receives inspection data collected by the robot during the exterior inspection, and determines current quality of the exterior of the building based on the inspection data collected by the drone and the robot.
