Abstract: A method of calibrating temperature of a resistive element having a material with a Curie temperature includes generating a standard resistance-temperature (R-T) curve for the resistive element in isothermal conditions to identify values of the R-T curve and an inflection point at the Curie temperature, generating operational R-T curves for the resistive element over an operational time period, comparing the standard R-T curve to the operational R-T curves, and adjusting the operational curves to the standard R-T curve at the Curie temperature to calibrate temperature of the resistive element.

Abstract: A device for measuring a thermal conductivity of high-temperature and high-pressure liquid is provided and includes a probe and a liquid flow channel, the probe radially penetrates through the liquid flow channel, both ends of the probe extend out of the liquid flow channel and are connected to a control system via wires; the control system includes a power supply, a voltmeter, an ammeter, a thermocouple and a flowmeter, which are used for energizing the probe, measuring voltage at both ends of the probe, measuring current flowing through the probe, measuring temperature of and a flow velocity of the liquid, respectively. A measuring method is further provided. The device and the method for measuring the thermal conductivity of high-temperature and high-pressure liquid utilize a principle of heat balance and characteristics of liquid sweeping across a circular tube for measurement when the liquid enters a fully developed section.

Abstract: Provided in this disclosure are systems and methods for determining a confidence level of a sensor measurement of a sensor. A system may include a sensor array, which includes a plurality of sensors configured to detect a physical phenomenon. Each sensor of the sensor array may generate an output signal that includes measurement datum related to the detected physical phenomenon, which may be received by a controller of the system. Controller may compare the measurement datum from a selected sensor to other sensors of the sensor array to determine the confidence level of the selected sensor.

Abstract: A method for the measurement of temperature in high temperature and high pressure processes includes the steps of providing at least a first material compound and at least a second material compound. The at least first and second compounds are mixed to form a material sample. The material sample is loaded into a device and the device and material sample are subjected to a high pressure of up to about 10 GPa and a high temperature of up to about 1700° C. to form the material sample into a solid crystalline solution. The material sample is recovered for analysis and the composition of the crystalline solid solution is measured to determine the temperature.

Abstract: The aim of the invention is to provide a commercially usable and inexpensive device and method with which a sorption enthalpy can be measured in a simple manner. This is achieved by a device for calorimetrically measuring sorption processes, comprising a sorption cell for receiving a sample, the sorption cell having a volume for filling with a sorption gas, and comprising a reference cell likewise for filing with the sorption gas. A measurement gas volume is arranged around the sorption cell for receiving a reference gas, and the reference cell is surrounded by a reference gas volume, which is likewise provided for receiving the reference gas. A gas connection is provided between the sorption cell and the reference cell in order to conduct sorption gas into the sorption cell and the reference cell such that a sorption reaction occurs with the sample in the sorption cell. Furthermore, a device is provided for measuring pressure differences between the measurement gas volume and the reference gas volume in order to carry out a calorimetric measurement of the sorption process on the sample in the sorption cell on the basis of a volume change of the reference gas in the measurement gas volume.
