    摘要: A mechanical igniter for a gas generator has a weight, a latch lever and a firing pin, which are provided in a casing as movable elements to fire a percussion cap attached to the gas generator in response to acceleration. The mechanical igniter further has a restraint member movably supported in the casing as a safety catch for making the movable elements immovable. The casing and the restraint member are respectively formed with cam surfaces which cooperate with each other to rotate the restraint member about its own axis so that the restraint member is selectively set in a restraint position and a release position. The restraint member has a rotary control portion that is concealed in the casing and has a portion that is engageable by a rotary tightening tool, such as used in an ordinary bolt tightening operation or the like. The restraint member is rotated by engaging the rotary tightening tool with the rotary control portion of the restraint member and turning the tool. As a result of the rotation, the restraint member is displaced from the restraint position to the release position and set in the latter position by the cooperation of the cam surfaces. Thus, the movable elements are released from the immovable state, thereby allowing the igniter to fire the percussion cap in response to acceleration.

    摘要: A backup mechanism for a fuze includes a plate having a slot therein which is freed up during the arming of the firing pin screw. A weight link having a pair of legs spaced along the slot is mounted for movement in the slot. A trip link is pivotally mounted to the plate and has a first leg for frictional engagement against the side of the first weight link leg. The second leg of the trip link is biased for rotation by a leaf spring. Another leaf spring engages against the second leg of the weight link for urging it in a movement direction along the slot. Friction between the first legs of the trip and weight links and/or the upward pull force of the ribbon hold the weight link in an initial position after fuze arming. When exposed to inertia, and/or the absence of upward ribbon pull force the weight link moves. This causes disengagement between its first leg and the first leg of the trip link. The spring rotates the strip link so that its first leg now pushes the weight link along the slot. The further leaf spring engaged against the second link of the weight link also pushes the weight link along the slot. A pin connected to the weight link is engaged with the weight of a standard fuze to enhance the pushing force on the weight.

    摘要: An improved construction for a percussion fuse. The fuse function has a firing pin rigidly mounted in an ignition head an adapted to coact with a percussion cap mounted in an impact member. This impact member is securedly maintained in a first position by means of at least one blocking sphere which is partially mounted in an annular groove of the impact member and partially mounted in a bore of the cylindrical forward portion of the percussion fuse body. A movable inertial sphere is disposed in a chamber between the impact member and the ignition head. In order to improve the fail-safety there is mounted in this chamber a housing between the impact member and ignition head which is coaxially movable with respect to the firing pin. When the projectile is accelerated forwardly the housing moves against the impact member and the movable inertial sphere is clamped between the impact member and housing to thereby prevent a further relative motion between firing pin and percussion cap and to thereby prevent detonation of the percussion cap. During normal deceleration prior to target impact, the housing moves back from the impact member and allows the inertial sphere to roll into the annular chamber of the housing. This allows the impact member to move forward and thereby allows the percussion cap to impact the firing pin when the projectile impacts the target.
