    摘要: The cartridged ammunition comprises a projectile (11) and a cartridge case (10) receiving the latter. The cartridge case (10) contains a cartridge (12) limiting a high-pressure space (21) in which a propelling charge (14) is located. The cartridge (12) is surrounded by a low-pressure space (10a) limited by the inside walls of the cartridge case (10) and a part of the base of the projectile (11). At the rear of the projectile (11) a tracer composition (11b) is arranged in a tube (27) which protrudes through the upper wall of the cartridge (12) into the high-pressure space (21). Projectile and cartridge case are interconnected via a rated breaking point (12d). The pressure for expelling the projectile (11) from the cartridge case is supplied by the pressure both in the high-pressure space (21) and in the low-pressure space (10a). Upon expulsion the volume of the high-pressure space (21) is furthermore enlarged when the tracer composition is pulled out thereof. These measures avoid steep pressure peaks in the march of pressure upon expulsion of the projectile. At the same time, approximately the entire projectile volume is available for a service charge.

    摘要: A projectile launch assembly includes a launch tube having distal and proximal ends and an inwardly extending dimple structure therebetween, the proximal end being configured to receive a firearm muzzle, a receiver disposed on the distal end of the launch tube and having connector structure at a distal end thereof for connection to a projectile, an energy absorbing plug disposed in the launch tube and having a proximal end portion adjacent the dimple and a body portion extending distally, and an energy transfer piston disposed in the launch tube and having a proximal end configured complementarily to the plug and having a distal end configured complementarily to a proximal end of the receiver. A bullet leaving the firearm muzzle is absorbed by the plug which is thereby moved with the piston distally in the tube, the piston engaging the receiver to propel the launch assembly and projectile from the firearm muzzle.

    摘要: Completely inert training grenade intended to be fired by a rifle and a propellant cartridge, comprising a metal tube (1) equipped with a rear stabilizing tail unit (2) and with a front solid part (3) which closes off the tube. This front part (3) carries a hollow nose (4) containing a marking substance (5), this nose (4) being fastened removably by engagement to the front solid part (3) of the tube. The nose (4) is sufficiently resistant to withstand the shot, but is destructible on impact. The solid front part (3) of the tube is produced in one piece with the tube, the diameter of this part being substantially equal to or slightly larger than that of the rest of the tube. The nose (4) engaged on this solid front part has an inner annular shoulder (11) bearing on the front surface (3a) of the solid part (3) of the tube, and the front end of the nose (4) is flat. The nose (4) is shaped so that its wall can break in the event of its impact on the ground.

    摘要: A medium caliber round of ammunition capable of being fired at variable velocities and trajectories, and methods of firing such, are presented herein. The ammunition round includes a grenade and a cartridge received in a firing chamber. The cartridge has a front case for receiving the grenade, and a rear case for receiving a primer. An adjustable variator collar is disposed between the front and rear cases. The variator collar is adjustable between a first position that chokes the venting of gas from a high-side stage to a low-side stage for low muzzle velocity, and a second position for un-choking the venting of gas from the high-side stage to the low-side stage for a rapid rise in pressure during the low-side stage, resulting in a high muzzle velocity. The collar may further be adjusted in any position between the first and second for relative amounts of controlled fluid flow.

    摘要: The dummy practice grenade of the present invention is particularly useful as a rifle grenade with a rifle having a fixed grenade launching sight such as a Yugoslavian M59/66 SKS Military rifle using 7.62×39 mm grenade launching cartridges, while exhibiting high accuracy during use as well as a rugged, structure which is useful for a large number of launches. The inventive grenade is also useful with other rifles such as the M1 Garand Military Rifle in 30-06 Caliber with a grenade launching attachment, grenade launching sight and grenade launching cartridges. The inventive dummy grenade is made of high density plastic such as polyethylene, and aluminum, and is weighted in the nose cone portion with lead shot so as to provide directional stability to the grenade during flight. The present invention is useful in combat training and in competitive events requiring target acquisition accuracy.
