摘要: Provided is a blast-free alternative tool for breaching operations for the intended purpose of cutting metal, including rebar, steel cables, I-beams, thin walled containers, welding doors, and the like. The apparatus includes a flexible and cuttable tube containing metal oxide/metal (thermite) mixture, capable of being formed around a target material and of NONEL ignition. The apparatus can be used to cut, weld, or ignite target material. Protective caps are included with provisions to insert shock tube or time fuse to transmit ignition to first fire mix. A fire proof or flame retardant flexible outerwrap with adhesive (such as hydrogel) or malleable retention wires covers the cutting ribbon for heat and slag retention. In the preferred embodiment, the apparatus is issued/manufactured in rolls or precut lengths.

These barriers prevent root and/or water penetration, which inhibits agricultural development. Consequently, removing and overcoming these barriers is beneficial to the soil and to agricultural yields.

摘要: A system with a spool base frame having an initiator, an interrupter, control electronics, and a proximity sensor connected thereto, wherein the spool base frame is configured to hold a shock tube spooling mechanism, the interrupter is configured to allow installation and spooling of a spool of shock tube disposed on the shock tube spooling mechanism, the interrupter is configured to cut spooled shock tube from the spool of shock tube, the control electronics are configured to send a signal directing the interrupter to cut the spooled shock tube from the spool, the interruptor is configured to physically redirect and splice the cut shock tube to a second shock tube connected to the initiator, and the interrupter is configured to discharge the cut shock tube after the shock tube is fired and spent.

摘要: A matrix assembly having a single detonating cord. Further, the matrix assembly has a first plurality of parallel portions of detonating cord arranged in a first plane and a second plurality of parallel portions of detonating cord arranged in a second plane, wherein each one of the second plurality of parallel portions intersects only one of the first plurality of parallel portions perpendicularly. Additionally, the matrix assembly has a plurality of open loops formed by the looping of the first plurality of parallel portions and the looping of the second plurality of parallel portions such that the open loops of the first plurality of parallel portions are geometrically symmetrical with the open loops of the second plurality of parallel portions. Further, the matrix assembly has two closed loops formed at opposing corners of the matrix assembly, the closed loops arranged geometrically symmetrical and formed from one of the first plurality of parallel portions and the second plurality of parallel portions.

摘要: The present disclosure is an explosive matrix assembly that has a first single detonating cord formed into a first grid. The grid has a first plurality of detonating cord portions lying in a first plane and a second plurality of detonating cord portions lying in a second plane and the first plurality of detonating cord portions perpendicularly overlay the second plurality of detonating portions. The explosive matrix assembly further has a second single detonating cord formed into a second grid. The second grid has a third plurality of detonating cord portions lying in the first plane and a fourth plurality of detonating cord portions lying in the second plane and the third plurality of detonating cord portions perpendicularly overlay the second plurality of detonating portions. The first grid is coupled to the second grid via a fastener.

An armor includes a strike face sheet, a rear face sheet, and a core disposed between the strike face sheet and the rear face sheet. The core includes a first layer of prismatic elements arranged in a tessellated fashion, a second layer of prismatic elements arranged in a tessellated fashion, and a strain isolation layer. The first layer of prismatic elements is nested into the second layer of prismatic elements with the strain isolation layer disposed between the first layer of prismatic elements and the second layer of prismatic elements. The armor is at least one of curved in at least one direction, configured to include a corner, and configured to include a prismatic element of the first layer of prismatic elements or the second layer of prismatic element having a metallic layer disposed thereon.

摘要: An existing military system for clearing a path through an enemy mine field (by use of an explosively-charged line) is equipped with a safety mechanism for preventing premature detonation of explosive charges. The safety mechanism includes means responsive to weight changes, incident to withdrawal of an explosively-charged line from a storage container. The weight-responsive mechanism permits electrical detonation of the explosive charges only when the container is emptied of the explosive charges.

摘要: A method comprising the steps of providing an Explosive Initiation Safety and Handling System (EISS) coupled to a robot, operatively coupling a charge carrier table and a manipulator to the robot; securing a charge to the charge carrier table; installing a shock tube spool on the shock tube spooling mechanism and locking with an indexing nut; inserting the shock tube that has been uncoiled from the spooling mechanism into the interrupter and replacing the cap; attaching the shock tube to the charge; making an initiator-to-interrupter connection with the shock tube; retracting the manipulator on the robot to a fully stowed position and rotating the charge carrier in front of the robot; picking up the charge with the manipulator, extending the manipulator forward and placing the charge at a threat; stowing the charge carrier; positioning the robot at a distance from the threat, allowing the shock tube to spool out; remotely activating a first firing circuit on the robot to arm the system; cutting the shock tube inside the interrupter and aligning the shock tube with the initiator; and firing a second circuit to initiate the shock tube.
