Abstract: A ballistic shield is detachably attachable to a weapon. The shield may be manipulated into a deployed configuration, a gun rest configuration, and a storage configuration. The shield has a shield body with a rigid upper portion, a flexible lower portion, and a quick release connector. That shield may also have a visor attachable to the shield that extends above the rigid upper portion of the shield. The quick release is secured to the shield body for removable connection of the weapon. The flexible lower portion drapes from the rigid upper portion when in the deployed configuration where the weapon is connected to the shield and the responder aims the weapon in a shooting position.

Abstract: A system for providing discharge monitoring of a firearm includes an event detection module, a signal processing module and a trigger pull sensor assembly. The event detection module has at least one sensor that senses an acceleration and generates an acceleration signal. The signal processing module receives the acceleration signal. The signal processing module is configured to determine whether the acceleration signal is a discharge event and generate an event detection signal based on the determination and is configured to maintain a shot count of the firearm based on the determination that the event detection signal is a discharge event. The trigger pull sensor assembly senses mechanical movement of a trigger of the firearm and communicates a trigger actuation signal to the signal processing module corresponding to a position of the trigger. The event detection signal is further based on the trigger actuation signal.

Abstract: A system and method for determining an operational status of a firearm based on a discharge event is provided. A first acceleration is measured on the firearm at a first time. A second acceleration is measured on the firearm at a second time. A measured shot separation of first and second accelerations between the first and second times is calculated. The measured shot separation is compared to at least one shot separation threshold. A speed of a movement member in the firearm is assigned based on the comparing. The operational status of the firearm is determined based on the assigned speed. The operational status is communicated to a first user of the firearm in real-time.

Abstract: A protection shield for handguns has a transparent or translucid shield made of ballistic material, or not, and a pass-through aperture centered therein of a big enough size so that it can be transpierced by the barrel and a portion of the gun frame. Abstract: A universal accessory mount for a heavy machine gun includes an annular base adapted to be disposed concentrically over a front end of a shroud of the gun and having diametrically opposing upper and lower accessory mounting tines extending forwardly therefrom. A holding mechanism pulls a planar floor of a counterbore in the rear of the base into contact with a planar front surface of the shroud of the gun. The holding mechanism includes a pair of threaded bolts extending rearwardly from the base through respective ones of a pair of diametrically opposing bolt apertures contained in the base, and a pair of cleats, each having an opening into which a rear end portion of a respective one of the bolts is received and a respective hook adapted to grip the shroud of the gun through a respective hole in the shroud.
