Abstract: A lighting for underwater use provides a pool lighting includes a housing with front and back portion enclosing an internal volume. At least part of the front portion is optically transparent. The lighting comprises a PCB with substrate layer, and at least one light source on a substrate layer front side. The PCB is arranged in the internal volume with the front and back side facing towards the front and back portion. The housing is provided with at least one first opening allowing water to enter the internal volume and have contact with the PCB. The at least one light source is sealed off from contact with water. The lighting comprises an optically transparent electrically insulating waterproof first seal covering at least the at least one light source for sealing it off from contact with water. The front portion of the housing is glued against the PCB by means of the first seal.

Abstract: A method for wirelessly providing power to a LED includes: receiving an AC input voltage having a first frequency via a cable; generating a first rectified voltage at a first node from the AC input voltage, the first node coupled to a first filtering non-electrolytic capacitor; powering a driver with the first rectified voltage; wirelessly transmitting power by driving a first resonant tank with the driver with a driving voltage at a second frequency higher than the first frequency, the driving voltage having a sinusoidal envelope at the first frequency and approximating a square-wave at the second frequency; receiving the wirelessly transmitted power with a second resonant tank; generating a second rectified voltage at second node from a voltage across the second resonant tank, the second node coupled to a second filtering capacitor; generating a DC voltage from the second rectified voltage; and powering the LED with the DC voltage.

Abstract: An illuminated foot spa is provided. The foot spa has a surface which defines a basin for containing water and a pump magnetically driven by rotating magnets. A mount defines part of the surface and holds the pump against rotation. A coil associated with the mount and disposed exteriorly of the surface of the basin and interiorly of a magnetic field produced by the rotating magnets to produce a current in the coil that powers a plurality of lights operatively connected to the coil. The light conductivity associated with the mount permits the plurality of lights to be visible interiorly of the basin.

Abstract: A universal swimming pool light adapter ring consisting of a two-element interlocking adapter ring for retrofitting a swimming pool light into a swimming pool niche. The adapter ring has a two element face ring that interlocks and fastens around a swimming pool light cord, so that an existing swimming pool light does not need to be substantially removed or disassembled to facilitate installation. Further the adapter ring consists of an adjacent two-element mounting ring that utilizes a plurality of mounting screws to each respective element, which creates pressure points that secure the adapter firmly into the light niche to allow a fit into most standard light niches, including but not limited to, a sealed beam light niche. Two thread points on each opposing side on the adapter's face ring, as well as a mounting tab, allow multiple brands and sizes of swimming pool lights to be mechanically fastened, securely to the adapter.

Abstract: A directionally adjustable pool light includes a lamp assembly having a body encircled by a collar. The collar includes a conical portion and the body partially defines a spherical space. The body has posts along an axis running centrally through the spherical space and is held against the conical portion by the posts. Rotating an adjusting screw accessible through the collar causes the body to rotate. A pivoting frame and adjustment nut couple the adjusting screw to the body, with the frame sliding relative to the body. LEDs are located substantially centrally in the spherical space, a trim cover is located over the collar, and a removable diffuser over the LEDs is surrounded by the collar.
