摘要： A torque-limiting bolt-and-nut assembly is provided for actuating a pipe-pressing member in order to secure two pipe ends together. The bolt includes a threaded shank, a secondary drive head, and a shearable drive head designed to be sheared-off by a torque exceeding a predetermined value. A recess is formed between the shearable drive head and the second drive head. The nut is mounted on the shearable drive head and is configured for transmitting torque to the shearable drive head from a manual tool. A nut includes a connection structure extending into the recess for resisting dislodgement of the nut from the bolt. The shearable drive head has at least four sides, all of the sides being of equal length, and the number of the sides being an even number.

摘要： A plastically radially expansible conduit connection including a first sealing surface disposed proximal to an end of a pin member of the connection and a second sealing surface disposed proximal to an end of a box member of the connection. The first and the second sealing surfaces substantially opposite each other upon connection of the box member and pin member. The connection also includes a first clearance surface proximal to the first sealing surface on the pin member and a second clearance surface proximal to the second sealing surface on the box member. The first and second sealing surfaces include an anti-rotation device. The first and second clearance surfaces and the first and second sealing surfaces each have a diameter such that prior to plastic radial expansion of the box member and the pin member, the clearance surfaces are proximal to each other and do not contact each other and the anti-rotation device is not engaged. After plastic radial expansion, the first and the second sealing surfaces develop a contact pressure, the clearance surfaces remain out of contact, and the anti-rotation device is engaged.

摘要： An annular beveled insert for enhancing the insertion of a plain end of a pipe into a mating belled end of a pipe, the insert including an annular main body portion having a substantially flat surface and a beveled opposed surface. The annular main body portion has inner and outer diameters approximately equal to inner and outer diameters, respectively, of the plain end of the pipe. An outwardly directed flange extends from the annular main body portion around a periphery and has an outer diameter greater than the outer diameter of the plain end of the pipe. The flange is sufficiently flexible so that it bends into an angle of approximately ninety degrees with the flat surface of the annular main body portion and aids the main body portion in masking the plain end of the pipe as it passes through the annular gasket.

摘要： A coupler for a low pressure piping system has a hollow metal tube terminating in a pair of end portions defining open ends for slidably receiving and joining together sections of other metal tubes in a substantially air tight relationship. Slots are formed in at least one of the end portions to aid in the crimping of the hollow metal tube by an annular clamp. A radial flange is formed adjacent the end portion and receives an annular seal therein. A stop for limiting the insertion of a tube section into the end of the hollow metal tube is formed on the inside of the coupler adjacent the radial flange opposite the slots. The annular clamp encircles the slots and is tightened to clamp the end portions to form metal to metal contact between the metal tubes and to form a seal between the annular seal and both metal tubes.

摘要： A spacer-less pipe joint includes a press ring fitted to an outer periphery of a jointed pipe. A joint main body has a protruding portion opposing the press ring and a receiving opening which extends toward the press ring and which is fitted to the jointed pipe with a peripheral clearance being formed there between. A securing tool moves the press ring toward the joint main body. A packing ring, between the joint main body and the jointed pipe is fitted into the receiving opening portion. The packing ring can be temporarily fixed to an entrance of the receiving opening portion, so that a stopper abutting a peripheral edge outer surface of the receiving opening portion is formed.
