Abstract: A beam clamp for attachment to a flange of a structural building member and from which to support or brace a service component. The beam clamp has a clamp body, and a set screw. The clamp body includes a first jaw section with at least one mounting through hole, a second jaw section, a joining section that interconnects the first and second jaw sections, and a transverse opening that is to receive the flange. A contact surface, on the second jaw section is formed with surface irregularities providing a roughness that enhances engagement of the contact surface with the flange. In use of the beam clamp, the contact surface is in contact with the flange of the structural member, the set screw is installed in the mounting through hole, and the flange is screwed within transverse opening between the tip of the set screw and the contact surface.

Abstract: A mechanical seal that employs a lock ring assembly having associated therewith a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism can include a nut element, such as a barrel nut, that allows an associated bolt element to adjust a tightening load and position while clamping occurs of the components of the mechanical seal. This adjustment flexibility removes or reduces unwanted bending stresses in the bolt element, thus allowing for more torque to translate directly to the lock ring. The barrel nut allows for more material to remain in the lock ring, thus providing for additional overall strength relative to a traditional locking element. The lock ring also includes a plurality of flex regions in the form of notches that allow the lock ring to flex when the main body is tightened about the shaft.

Abstract: A mounting device or clamp is provided that can be secured to a roof joint without damaging the roof joint. Two roof panels can be joined at a roof joint that extends away from the roof. The clamp has a body with a slot to receive the roof joint. An insert of the clamp is rotatable relative to the body from a first position to a second position. The clamp body can be positioned over the roof joint, and the insert can rotate or pivot from the first position to the second position relative to the body to secure the clamp to the roof joint. In one embodiment, a body of the clamp has a first arm that is concave and the insert has a concave portion to engage the roof joint. Alternatively, in another embodiment, the insert can be connected to the clamp body such that either a first projection or a second projection of the insert faces a roof joint.

Abstract: Jet pump clamps fit to modified jet pump assemblies at the riser pipe-restrainer bracket junction. The clamp can secure the restrainer bracket and riser pipe, relieving any welds between the same stress in the same, while preventing the restrainer bracket from moving. The clamp may include multiple members on either side of the restrainer bracket that fit into surfaces of the riser pipe. When these members are drawn together through clamping action, the underlying riser pipe is compressed. Similarly, vertically-adjustable members may seat into and/or through the restrainer bracket to hold the bracket steady. Jet pump assemblies may be prepared by forming grooves in the riser pipe and hole(s) in the restrainer bracket(s) and spherical indentations about the same. Clamps may then be installed on the grooves and through the hole(s) at installation or during a maintenance outage in a commercial nuclear power plant.
