The guideway (16) and the cover strip contact zones (58) are in particular formed at a rail body of the guide rail (10) which is of a uniform base material. The cover strip (56) protects the guideway (10) against contaminants which may cause damage to the guideway (16) and impair the smooth running and guide precision of the runner assembly (14) on the guide rail (10).

The present invention relates to an improved structure of an automobile center lock driving apparatus, and in particular to an center lock driving apparatus having an inertia gear module. The driving apparatus comprises a driving pull-rod, a transmission gear, an inertia clutching gear, an active gear and a motor. The apparatus provides a solution to wear of the gears, dislocation of the gears, and “dead lock” of the driving pull-rod, and gear damages as a result of shock caused by dislocation of transmission gear modules. At instantaneous driving, the driving pull-rod can be driven more smoothly and stable as a result of the inertia gap between the gear modules.

A hollow rack shaft is produced by forming a plate work piece and has continuous metal flow along the contour of rack teeth surface without being cut. A series of wave-like concave-convex sections is formed on the inner surface of the shaft. Thickness of tooth body and tooth bottom of the rack teeth is adjusted by dimensions of the unevenness. Thereby, stress concentration at each point of the rack shaft is prevented and the shaft is strengthened and its weight reduced.

A gear for use as the pinion in a rack and pinion gear includes spur gear teeth that have an upper portion of the face cut in a worm cut so the gear is effective as a worm wheel for a worm gear while retaining involute curved faces so it is effective as the pinion for the rack. The rack, pinion, and worm driver are connected. When the worm gear connected to a shaft, power is transmitted from the shaft to the rack via the worm driver and pinion with all gears making line contact instead of point contact. This improvement turns one gear piece into two gears. The rack pinion can be geared to a worm gear while it is also matched up with a straight cut rack. In this way the gear translates force between the two different types of gears.
