    摘要: Exhaust gas is recirculated to an intake manifold of an engine by a shut-off valve and a fluidic amplifier for modulation in accordance with different engine parameters. The shut-off valve is normally biased to a closed position and it is opened to permit recirculation in response to a signal received from a fluidic NOR gate which operates in accordance with position of a carburetor throttle, engine speed and engine temperature. The fluidic amplifier includes a power jet chamber receiving a supply of exhaust and a vent chamber in fluid communication with a venturi disposed in the exhaust manifold, a receiver chamber and a pair of control jets. One of the control jets may be in fluid communication with the intake manifold or with a carburetor venturi. The other control jet may be open to atmospheric pressure compensated for the effect of changes in air density or engine speed.

    摘要: A bistable fluidic amplifier having high gain is disclosed. Power fluid isupplied through an inlet port and lobe-shaped feedback cavities downstream provide an oscillating differential pressure or flow between a pair of outlets. A pair of opposed control ports are provided between the inlet port and the feedback cavities and a differential control pressure or flow applied to the control ports creates a differential outlet pressure or flow having a gain in the range of 10-15.

    摘要: A reciprocating fluid motor, notably for operating a pump comprising an enclosure divided into two pressure chambers by a movable wall, said movable wall experiencing a forward stroke and a return stroke and being resiliently urged towards the return position, a control device responsive to the position of the movable wall controlling a distributing valve to alternately communicate one of said pressure chambers with a high pressure equalling the pressure residing at all times in the other chamber, and with a lower pressure. In this motor the control device and the distributing valve are mounted within the thickness of the movable wall, and the control device is a fluidic flip-flop. If air is selected as energizing fluid for the motor, the high and low pressures can be the atmospheric pressure and the vacuum created in the intake manifold of an engine respectively.

    摘要: A gas turbine has a fluidic control system having a fluidic bistable element which controls a switch actuator. The vent of the bistable element is fed to a venturi tube. The throat of the venturi tube is connected to one control inlet of the bistable element, the venturi being vented to a pressure equal to or less than the pressure applied to the inlet of the bistable element. The control system is operative to trigger the actuator which in turn controls the gas turbine when the ratio of main inlet pressure of the bistable element to the pressure at the second control inlet falls below a predetermined value; the pressures being respectively taken from the high pressure compression stage and the fan stage of the gas turbine compressor.

A plurality of fluid signals constituting the bits of first and second binary numbers are coupled to the input terminals of two threshold gates. A pair of output signals from the two gates are indicative of inequalities of the two binary numbers. Other output signals from the two threshold gates are coupled to an AND gate which produces a fluid output signal when the two binary numbers are equal.
