    摘要: A variable capacity vane compressor includes side members secured to opposite end faces of a cylinder block, respectively, and a rotary plate mounted in one of the side members, for adjusting compression starting timing of the compressor to thereby increase or decrease capacity or delivery quantity of the compressor. Further, the compressor includes a main piston slidably mounted in the one of the side members, for causing rotation of the rotary plate, a pilot piston slidably arranged at one end of the main piston, for inhibiting movement of the main piston in a capacity-decreasing direction, a first low-pressure chamber formed within another end portion of the main piston, into which suction pressure is introduced via a first low-pressure communication passage, a high-pressure chamber defined by a reduced-diameter portion formed on the one end of the main piston and one end face of the pilot piston, into which is introduced control pressure for driving the main piston and the pilot piston, a second low-pressure chamber formed at another end of the pilot piston, into which suction pressure is introduced via a second low-pressure communication passage, a main urging member urging the main piston in the capacity-decreasing direction, and an auxiliary urging member urging the main piston in a capacity-increasing direction. The second low-pressure communication passage has a cross-sectional area which is smaller than a cross-sectional area of the first low-pressure communication passage.

    摘要: A variable capacity rotary compressor (12) having a housing (14) with a cylindrical chamber (16) and an orbiting ring piston (26) in the chamber. A pair of outer vanes (20) slidably mount in the housing and are biased into engagement with the orbiting ring (26), forming a pair of gas chambers (27). A pair of vane deactivation assemblies (52) each include a deactivation pin (58) which engages a deactivation recess (60) in its respective outer vane (20) when a corresponding one or both solenoid actuators (54) are energized. The pins (58) hold the outer vanes (20) in a retracted position out of contact with the orbiting ring (26), thus reducing the capacity of the compressor (12). Each outer vane (20) includes a slotted recess (62) adjacent to its deactivation recess (60) in order to allow for plastic yielding of the vane (20) behind the deactivation recess (60) without the yielded material interfering with the sliding motion of the outer vanes (20) relative to the walls of corresponding vane slots (18).

    摘要: Front and rear radial roller bearings are provided in front and rear side blocks of the pump housing. A partition wall member is secured to an end face of the rear side block remote from the rotor to define a sealing chamber therebetween. The sealing chamber communicates with a back pressure chamber in the rotor through the rear radial roller bearing. A shaft-seal chamber defined between the front head and the front side block communicates with the back pressure chamber through the front radial roller bearing. The pump housing is formed therein with passage means communicating the discharge pressure chamber with at least one of the sealing chamber and the shaft-seal chamber. The passage means has valve means arranged therein, which is operable to open when the difference in pressure between the discharge pressure chamber and the back pressure chamber is below a predetermined value and to close when the pressure difference is above the latter, to thereby establish and interrupt communication between the discharge pressure chamber and at least one of the sealing chamber and the shaft-seal chamber.

    摘要: A rotating ring rotary compressor having a driven eccentric so mounted on the drive shaft that its eccentricity is adjustable from a minimum to a maximum, whereby at its maximum extension it presses the roller surface against the stator surface to cause it to roll around the stator with zero clearance and positive hermetic sealing. Because the extensible eccentric mounting is spring-biased, the resultant working pressure is controlled by the contribution of the spring bias to centrifugal force and any excess of pressure or interference causes the roller to reduce eccentricity, thereby internally bypassing excess pressure or overcoming interference.

In various embodiments of the invention the device may be used as a fan or pump, a jet propulsion device for aircraft, a heat pump operating on a pure gas cycle, and as a heat engine with external or internal heat source. In one embodiment of the invention the device may be used to perform the function of the wing of an aircraft, but requiring no horizontal motion of the aircraft itself; however, if this same aircraft is made to move horizontally in a certain direction very high lift coefficients may be obtained.

    摘要: A variable displacement vane-type fluid pump is provided which permits improved regulation of the pump discharge such that the pump can meet the various requirements of lubrication for internal combustion engines at all speeds with minimized use of power. Of course, the vane pump may also be utilized in a wide range of power transmission and other fluid distribution applications. The variable displacement vane pump of the invention may utilize both hydrostatic and mechanical assistance in radially positioning its vanes to ensure efficient and quiet operation of the pump and to facilitate priming of the pump. The vane pump of the invention may also use both hydrostatic and mechanical actuators to control the position of its containment ring or eccentric ring and hence, regulate the output of the pump. According to yet another aspect of the present invention, to prevent inlet flow restriction or cavitation, a valve may be provided to permit some of the pump outlet or discharge flow to bleed into the pump inlet to provide needed velocity and energy to the fluid flow into the pump inlet.
