Abstract: A discharge device includes a capacitor, first and second discharge circuits each connected in parallel to the capacitor, and a comparator. The first discharge circuit includes a first discharge resistor. The second discharge circuit includes: a second discharge resistor smaller in resistance value than the first discharge resistor; and a switch connected in series to the second discharge resistor. The comparator turns off the switch when a voltage (VH) between power lines is equal to or higher than a prescribed voltage, and turns on the switch when the voltage becomes lower than the prescribed voltage. The comparator is configured to turn off the switch after an elapse of a prescribed time period since turning on of the switch.

Abstract: A compressor driven by a variable-frequency drive (VFD) is provided to supplement operation of another compressor of a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system, such as heat pump operations at low ambient temperatures. The VFD is controlled to provide efficient pressure ratios for each compressor of the HVACR system when the compressor driven by the VFD is used to supplement the other compressor. The compressor driven by the VFD can be included as a built-in compressor of the HVACR system or added subsequently as part of a booster package.

Abstract: A stator includes a stator core having a plurality of slots in a circumferential direction about an axis and having an end surface in a direction of the axis, and a first coil and a second coil of different phases which are wound on the stator core in distributed winding. A winding factor is 1. Each of the first coil and the second coil has winding portions, the number of which corresponds to the number of poles. The winding portions include first and second winding portions adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction. The first and second winding portions are inserted into one slot of the plurality of slots and extend from the one slot to both sides in the circumferential direction on the end surface. The first and second coils are annularly disposed in different positions in a radial direction about the axis on the end surface.

Abstract: An AC/DC converter includes: a charge accumulation unit including first and second capacitors connected in series; a switching unit including a switch unit; a control unit; a switch drive unit; and first current and second current detection units. The switch unit includes first and second switching elements connected in series. The switching unit switches between charging and non-charging of each of the first and second capacitors. The switch drive unit causes the first and second switching elements to perform an ON/OFF operation exclusively to each other. A current detector of the first current detection unit is disposed between a rectifier circuit and the switch unit. The control unit detects a current flowing through the switch unit on the basis of based on a difference value between a detection value of a first current detected by the first current detection unit and a detection value of a second current detected by the second current detection unit.
