Abstract: A device for rotating a valve for producing rotations of a gas charging valve in an internal combustion engine during its opening and closing movements. The device has a basic body having a plurality of pockets oriented in a peripheral direction for receiving rolling bodies. There is also a valve shaft disposed in the basic body. In addition, there is also a plurality of rolling bodies and a plurality of tangential springs for holding the plurality of rolling bodies adjacent to the plurality of pockets on the basic body. Finally, there is a cover serving as a valve spring support and force transmitter or energy reservoir for each of the valve rotations, wherein the basic body and the cover consist of reshaped metal components. This design allows for a simple construction process resulting in lower manufacture costs.

Abstract: A valve for an internal combustion engine has a valve stem, a valve cone and a valve disk, with the valve cone having a recess to receive the valve disk, and the valve cone and valve disk together forming a cavity. The valve disk has a lesser diameter than the recess in the valve cone, so that an insulation gap is formed between the recess in the valve cone and the valve disk edge. As a result the valve cone and valve stem are thermally insulated relative to the valve disk, which results in an advantageous, lower operating temperature at the valve cone. Particularly in the case of direct-injection internal combustion engines, this reduces the tendency to coking at the valve cone.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gas exchange valve with a hollow space, for an internal combustion engine. The valve comprises a valve stem (3), a valve base and a valve disk (2). The valve stem and valve disk or valve stem and valve base have an approximately cylindrical, elongated hollow space which is formed by both parts. The space is sealed by welding. The aim of the invention is to improve the quality of the welding. Abstract: A valve system designed for use in an internal combustion engine to regulate the flow of working fluids including air/fuel mixtures and exhaust gases to and from a cylinder comprising an intake valve and an exhaust valve. At least one but preferably both of the intake and exhaust valves comprise a shutter valve, defined by a plurality of valve elements in the form of partially overlapping valve blades slidable relative to one another and defining a central aperture having an adjustable dimension dependent upon the relative positioning of the plurality of valve elements as they are selectively oriented between an open position and a closed position. The central aperture at least partially defines a free, unobstructed flow path of fluid passing into or out of the combustion chamber before and after the ignition of the air/fuel mixture. A control assembly comprises a plurality of sensors each transferring sensor signals to a central processing unit for purposes of indicating the operating characteristics of the internal combustion engine. The central processing unit is interconnected by an activation assembly to the intake and exhaust shutter valve so as to regulate operation thereof based on the operational conditions of the internal combustion.

Abstract: The present invention is a valve stem seal assembly module for installation over a valve guide of an internal combustion engine. The module includes a seal retainer and an elastomeric annular seal circumferentially and frictionally contained within the retainer. The retainer is defined by an elongate cylindrical body having an annular flange at its lower end and at least one radially inwardly extending first boss at its upper end. A separate annular spring retainer has a lower radially outwardly extending second boss that interlockingly engages the first boss of the seal retainer, and an upper radially outwardly extending flange; a valve return spring extends longitudinally between and engages respective flanges of spring and seal retainers. The spring is effective to provide resilient engagement of first and second bosses prior to assembly, whereby the spring and seal retainers are telescopingly interconnected to facilitate installation of the module in a pre-assembly mode.
