The invention concerns an oil supply system for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle having one hydrodynamic starting element. It has one oil pump (2) to convey oil to a variator (9, 10) and/or to shifting elements (12, 13), to a converter unit (19) that can be supplied with oil via two oil lines (23, 25), especially a hydrodynamic torque converter (20) having a converter lock-up clutch (21), and to a lubrication device (28), the same as at least one filter device (3, 31) and one oil cooling device (17). Here are provided one prioritized primary circuit (6) with a main pressure adjusted by a main pressure valve (3) for pressure supply of the variator (9, 10) and/or of the shifting elements (12, 13) and a secondary circuit (7) for oil supply of the lubrication device (28). It is proposed according to the invention that the converter unit (19) be tied to the primary circuit (6) and to the secondary circuit (7) so that the converter lock-up clutch (21) be supplied with a minimum pressure required for torque transmission via the primary circuit (6) parallel to the supply of the lubrication device (28) via the secondary circuit (7) when on the converter lock-up clutch (21) a closing or slipping state is adjusted and that otherwise the converter unit (19) is supplied with oil via the secondary circuit (7).

The pre-lubrication system is structured to constantly maintain an acceptable supply of oil within the reservoir and will supply pre-lubricating oil upon a burst of air being initiated and directed into the oil reservoir, through an air flow corridor, so as to displace oil contained in the reservoir out through the oil flow corridor for pre-lubrication of the engine.

A drive axle assembly is provided that includes an axle housing that supports axle shafts. The axle housing also typically includes a bearing cage secured to the main axle housing portion for supporting a drive shaft that is arranged transverse to the axle shafts. A differential is arranged within the axle housing and couples the driven shafts to the axle shafts. A bearing assembly supports the driven shaft within the bearing cage. A seal is arranged between the driven shaft and the bearing cage, preferably between the cone and the bearing cage. The seal is adjacent to the bearing assembly and separates the axle housing into first and second cavities in which the bearing assembly is arranged in the first cavity and the differential is arranged in the second cavity. Lubricant containing a GL5 or similar additive may be placed in the second cavity to lubricate the differential. Another lubricant without the GL5 additive more suitable for bearings may be placed in the first cavity to lubricate the bearing assembly.

The organic phase includes a lubricant which has a defined solubility in the HFC refrigerant and a lubricity suitable for application to the wire. The organic phase also includes a solvent in which the lubricant is soluble and, optionally, a hydrophobic surfactant. The aqueous phase includes a surfactant which forms an emulsion between the organic phase and the aqueous phase, which has a defined solubility in a non-CFC containing refrigerant. A magnetic wire lubricant, method of making the lubricant blend, and compressor using the lubricant blend are also described.

Oil is pumped from a tank (10) to points of service in the hydraulic roll control system of a papermaking machine, wherein the oil is pumped at least at one low pressure level such as is required for the lubrication of the roll bearings and/or drive gearbox and at least at one high pressure level such as is required for the pressure-loaded zones of a roll. The oil is filtered and if necessary cooled and the return circulation of oil is passed back to the tank (10). The oil is pumped from the tank (10) into a single low-pressure circuit by a pump or pumps (11a, 11b), with a capacity to meet overall demand of fluid flows delivered to the points of service. Supply lines form the circuit to desired points of service are passed through stages to stepwise elevate the line pressure to a desired high-pressure level.
