In some embodiments, the vertical paths along the length of the mesh having elastic properties may be symmetrical about a center of the mesh, or in other embodiments may not be symmetrical. The invention includes lacrosse mesh and goalie lacrosse mesh. The lacrosse mesh may be displaced in response to receiving a thrown ball or by a ball during a throwing motion of a lacrosse stick with the lacrosse mesh with elastic portions coupled to the head of the lacrosse stick.

A feeder device for feeding elastomer yarns in knitting machines has a housing split into two parts, on which bearing and drive rollers are rotatably supported, spaced apart from and parallel to one another. The housing encloses an internal chamber that accommodates gears for driving at least one of the bearing and drive rollers. The gears transmit force from a drive wheel, which is secured to a shaft protruding from the housing, to at least one bearing and drive roller. The bearing and drive rollers are supported via ball bearings, which are retained by corresponding bearing seats provided in the housing. The bearing seats are recessed in the respective integrally formed housing parts, which are preferably made by injection molding. The dividing line at which the housing parts border on one another extends through all the bearing seats, so that the ball bearings are retained between the housing parts. Securing the housing parts to one another fixes the ball bearings as well, simultaneously.

A yarn feeding device adapted for positively feeding elastic yarn comprises an electric motor, a speed sensor for the speed of the knitting machine and a control unit connected to the electric motor and to the speed sensor. An optimal dynamic behavior of the yarn feeding device is obtained by making use of a rotatable drive cylinder connected to the electric motor, of a rotatable guide shaft supporting the yarn supply spool, which shaft is slidably arranged such that the yarn supply spool is kept in permanent contact with the drive cylinder, wherein the control unit drives said rotatable drive cylinder with a variable speed depending on the actual speed of the knitting machine and on a yarn demand signal, wherein the range of yarn feeding speeds is limited by predetermined minimum and maximum values.
