Abstract:
A dye salt of the formula ##STR1## WHEREIN Me is cobalt or chromium, X is --O-- or --COO--, Y and Y' each is hydrogen, chlorine or nitro, n is 1 or 2, a + b = n + 1 and neither a nor b is zero, the R substituents make up the organic residue of metallizable azo dyes, A is a basic dye and B is an aliphatic amine in quaternized form. These dye salts have good solubility in alcohols, glycols and esters and are useful for the manufacture of transparent varnishes, printing inks and the like.
