Abstract: A plant-based functional polyester filament and a preparation method of the plant-based functional polyester filament are provided. The plant-based functional polyester filament includes polyester, and plant extract in a weight percentage range of approximately 0.1%-1.5%. The plant extract includes one or more of a peppermint extract, a valerian extract, a lavender extract, a wormwood extract, a chitin extract and a seaweed extract. The method includes preparing a plant-based functional polyester masterbatch, including: heating polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chips to a molten state, adding an antioxidant and a dispersant to the molten PET, stirring the molten PET, adding a protective agent and a plant extract to the molten PET, stirring the molten PET at a high speed, adding a modifier to the molten PET, obtaining a mixture by uniformly mixing the molten PET, and performing an extrusion granulation process on the mixture.

Abstract: Described are compositions and methods for inhibiting polymerization of a monomer (e.g., styrene) composition, which use an N—O polymerization inhibitor, a quinone methide polymerization retarder, and an amine stabilizer having a primary and/or secondary amine group. In a mixture, the amine-based stabilizer can prevent antagonistic effects and can provide greater antipolymerant activity. In turn, the mixture inhibits apparatus fouling and improves the purity of monomer streams.

Abstract: A method of manufacture of a polyetherimide copolymer composition includes contacting a substituted phthalic anhydride and an organic diamine in the presence of diphenyl sulfone, sulfolane, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing solvents at a temperature of greater than 130° C. to provide a bis(phthalimide) composition comprising diphenyl sulfone, sulfolane, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing solvents and a bis(phthalimide); and copolymerizing the bis(phthalimide), a substituted aromatic compound, and an alkali metal salt of a dihydroxy aromatic compound in the presence of diphenyl sulfone, sulfolane, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing to form a polyetherimide copolymer. The method does not require any catalyst either for the imidization or the polymerization.
