Abstract:
An example print medium supplying apparatus includes a print medium transporting device to pick up a print medium loaded in a loading portion and transport the picked-up print medium, a print medium alignment portion to align a leading end of the transported print medium, a first sensor to sense the print medium that passes through a feed roller of the print medium transporting device, and a processor to, based on a measured value with respect to the print medium sensed by the first sensor and a multi-feeding determination reference value corresponding to a sheet of the print medium, detect multi-feeding of the print medium and process the detected multi-feeding by controlling the print medium transporting device and the print medium alignment portion.
Abstract:
A paperboard sheet and a method of using the paperboard sheet is provided in which a surface of the paperboard sheet provides a pattern of indentations, the indentations reducing the surface area between adjacent sheets to facilitate the transfer of a top sheet from a stack of similar sheets.
Abstract:
A sheet takeout and separation device of an embodiment has a takeout section, a sending section, a separation portion. The takeout section takes out a sheet. The sending section sends out the sheet taken out by the takeout section. The separation portion is provided so as to come in contact with the sheets taken out in an overlapping state by the takeout section, and separates the sheets one by one. In addition, the separation portion has a separation portion main body and a cover. The separation portion main body elastically deforms in accordance with a thickness of the sheet. The cover is provided on the separation portion main body so as to come in contact with the sheet. And, on a surface of the cover, a surface roughening treatment for enhancing a friction coefficient of the relevant surface is performed.
Abstract:
Provided are a floating restricting member restricting the floating position of a bundle of sheets; and a holding mechanism holding the floating restricting member relative to a side fence. The floating restricting member includes a sheet contact section being brought into contact with the sheets from above; and a sheet-floating restricting section restricting the floating position of the floating sheet that is floated while air is blown thereto. The holding mechanism sets the floating restricting member in the initial state where the sheet-floating restricting section restricts the floating position of the sheet, in the sheet-placing time retracted state where the sheets are pushed against the sheet contact section so that the floating restricting member is retracted, and in the sheet-ejecting time retracted state where, when the sheets are to be removed, the sheet is pushed against the sheet contact section from below so that the floating restricting member is retracted.
Abstract:
A sheet conveying apparatus according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a roller drive portion, a first drive portion, a restriction member, a second drive portion, and a drive control portion. Restriction member contacts with rear end of sheet surface, in conveying direction, of uppermost sheet in sheet stack stored in sheet storage portion to restrict feeding of sheet from sheet storage portion. Drive control portion controls roller drive portion, first drive portion, and second drive portion, and causes opposing member to separate from sheet feed roller, and causes restriction member to contact with sheet surface of second sheet to be conveyed immediately after first sheet, after first sheet located on uppermost position of sheet stack is fed by pickup roller and leading end of first sheet in conveying direction passes through sheet feed nip portion.
Abstract:
Assemblies and methods to move media sheets from a media stack within an image forming apparatus. These may include a pivoting arm with an attached roller that contacts the media stack and rotates to move a top-most sheet from the media stack. A clutch may be operatively connected to the arm for the arm to pivot in a first direction to maintain the roller positioned on a top of the media stack as the media stack is depleted and a height of the media stack is reduced. The clutch may also reduce movement of the arm in a second direction beyond a predetermined amount.
Abstract:
A pick mechanism for sheet feeding apparatus of a type in which the top sheet of a stack of media is separated from the remainder of the stack by pick movement to engage and lift the rear end of the top sheet from the remainder of the stack for subsequent separation and feeding from the stack, and including means for lifting the pick independently of elevating movement caused by engagement of the pick with a sheet. The pick lifting arrangement operates to lift the pick in the event of a failure thereof to engage the rear edge of a sheet and also to gently lower the pick back onto the next successive top sheet in the stack to be fed. A detector system is provided by which the conditions of sheet feed due to pick movement are detected and used to control driving components associated with the apparatus.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes pincers, or suckers, that tension each marker at an angle to the stack of sheets from which it emerges, and a separator mechanism; the separator incorporates a follower with a tapered leading edge that is offered to the taut marker, and a support, to which the follower is hinged, that can be moved from a retracted position to an extended position in which the follower penetrates the stack of sheets, sliding in between the marker and the ream sitting on and separated by the marker.
Abstract:
Sheet stacks bordered by sheet markers are sequentially fed from a pile of aligned and stacked sheets containing sheet markers inserted into these sheets through end wall at specific intervals with bare portion left outside, using a sheet stack delivery apparatus including at least lifter means that mounts sheet stacks to allow the uppermost sheet stack to be sequentially transferred to a pre-determined level; a wedge-type head for separating sheet stacks comprising its tip part facing the end wall of the sheet pile at a position close to the sheet marker bordering the uppermost and the second sheet stacks and also the upper tilt surface and the bottom surface ending at the tip part; and means for transferring the uppermost sheet stack by holding and pushing forward an end wall of the uppermost sheet stack split by the wedge head.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for feeding single bags to automatic bag inserting apparatuses, picking them up and also unsticking the bag being picked up from the underlying ones, in case they are glued to one another because of glue drops during the bag manufacture. The system substantially comprises (see FIG. 3) three units: a first unit provided with suction cups, picking up the bag at its transversal middle portion, where accidental adhesion of bags cannot happen, and lifting it to allow that two unsticking units, including bars being inserted under the bag and unsticking it from the underlying one with a spreading action, are inserted between said bag being picked up and the underlying one. One of the two units is also provided with pincers blocking the bag edges on the open unsticking arms and, in the return stroke of the unit to the starting position, transferring it on to the feeding device of the bag inserting apparatus. The other unsticking unit is so arranged that the two unsticking bars, in addition to the spreading action, are lowered so as to press the underlying bags so as to hold them down during the stage of bag picking by said pincers of the first unsticking unit, so that, if the unsticking was not complete, the underlying bags are kept blocked down and the bag being picked up is stripped and finally separated from the others.
