Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing roller, a pressure roller, a first bearing, a second bearing, and an annular insulating member. The insulating member is interposed at least one of between the first bearing and a shaft of the fixing roller and between the second bearing and a shaft of the pressure roller. The insulating member has a slit formed in at least one circumferential location thereon and creating a circumferential discontinuity in the insulating member, and includes a projection projecting from one of circumferentially opposed end surfaces of the slit toward the other of the circumferentially opposed end surfaces.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus has an openable-closable member, an image carrier, a cover sheet, and a cover moving mechanism. The openable-closable member is arranged in an open position where it keeps a recording medium conveying passage open and in a closed position where it keeps the recording medium conveying passage closed. The cover sheet is reciprocatable between a protection position where it covers the recording medium conveying passage side of the image carrier and a retracted position where it is retracted from the recording medium conveying passage. The cover moving mechanism moves the cover sheet to the retracted position or to the protection position by opening and closing the openable-closable member. Drawing out the cover sheet in the protection position to the recording medium conveying passage side causes the cover sheet to be arranged in a recording medium removal position.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a sheet storing cassette, a lift mechanism, a sheet feeding portion, a remaining quantity sensing portion, and a control portion. The control portion, during continuous sheet feeding by the sheet feeding portion, controls the lift mechanism to make a sheet stacking plate ascend to a lifted position where sheets make contact with the sheet feeding portion, and feeds a foregoing sheet and then, at a sheet feeding timing a predetermined time thereafter, starts feeding the following sheet. The control portion makes the sheet feeding timing earlier as the remaining quantity of the sheets sensed by the remaining quantity sensing portion decreases.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a developing device, a transfer section, a main body frame, a fixing device, a discharge section, a recording medium conveyance path, an openable/closable member, a cover sheet, a cover moving mechanism, a cooling section, and a slide member. The cover sheet is reciprocatable between a protection position at which it covers a side of the image carrier that faces the recording medium conveyance path and a retraction position at which it is arranged in a clearance between the image carrier and the main body frame. At the retraction position, the cover sheet blocks an air flow passage between the cooling section and the fixing device. The slide member is disposed at a lower end corner portion of the main body frame, and contacts the cover sheet reciprocating between the protection position and the retraction position.

Abstract: A sheet feed cassette includes a bottom portion, a first cursor, a second cursor, and a fixing rack. The second cursor includes a regulating member, a lock member, and a biasing member. The regulating member abuts on the rear end edge of the sheet to regulate a position of the sheet in the mounting direction. The regulating member and the lock member are separated above the shaft portion in the locked state.
