An image forming apparatus includes a housing, a photosensitive drum, a cleaning member, a driving transmission portion, and a movement mechanism. The photosensitive drum is rotatably supported by the housing about a first shaft portion. The driving transmission portion transmits a rotation driving force to the photosensitive drum. The movement mechanism reciprocates the photosensitive drum in an axial direction. The movement mechanism includes a first rotation gear, a second rotation gear, a first intermediate gear, and a second intermediate gear. The first rotation gear integrally rotates with the photosensitive drum. The second rotation gear has teeth different in number from teeth of the first rotation gear and rotates with a predetermined speed difference relative to the first rotation gear. The first and second intermediate gears are a pair of rotation gears rotatable about a second shaft portion parallel to the first shaft portion.

A drum supporting structure according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a bearing. The bearing is configured to support a flange of a photosensitive drum connected to a shaft joint member that is connected to a drive shaft through which drive power is transmitted, such that the flange of the photosensitive drum is rotatable. The bearing includes an inner circumferential surface that is fitted on an outer surface of the flange, and two planes that are formed on the inner circumferential surface and that contact with the flange. The bearing supports the flange by the flange contacting with the two planes at two points due to a load applied from a peripheral device to the photosensitive drum, such that the flange is rotatable.

An image forming apparatus has an intermediate transfer belt and a plurality of image forming units located along the intermediate transfer belt. Each image forming unit has a photosensitive drum, a charger that charges the photosensitive drum, a developing device that forms a toner image by attaching toner to an electrostatic latent image formed by exposure after charging, a transfer device that transfers the toner image formed on the photosensitive drum to the intermediate transfer belt, a cleaning device that removes toner remaining on the photosensitive drum, and a neutralization device that neutralizes the photosensitive drum using neutralization light. The neutralization device of at least one of the image forming units irradiates the photosensitive drum with neutralization light, irradiates the intermediate transfer belt with neutralization light, and irradiates the photosensitive drum of the adjacent image forming unit with reflected light of neutralization light from the intermediate transfer belt.

An image carrying member bearing part and a first cleaning member bearing part for rotatably supporting one end part of the rotating shaft for the cleaning member where an input side gear is provided, are formed integrally on a first support frame for supporting one end part of the image carrying member where an output side gear is provided.
