Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for conveying particulate material. A plurality of injector arrangements are arranged along the conveying pipeline, for injecting a continuous flow of conveying gas into the pipeline. Each injector arrangement is operable to increase the flow rate at which conveying gas is injected into the pipeline on of pressure conditions in the conveying pipeline indicative of locally decreased material permeability. Each injector arrangement comprises a piloted shut-off valve positioned between the flow rate adjustment arrangement and the conveying pipeline and operable to close in response to a received pilot signal indicative of a pressure condition in the conveying pipeline below a lower threshold pressure condition. The continuous flow of conveying gas injected by each of the injector arrangements prevents particulate material from entering any part of the injector arrangements, thereby reducing the risk of blockage of nozzles, injection pathway selection valves and the like. The continuous injection of conveying gas along the pipeline also maintains a degree of permeability particulate material in the pipeline and promotes stable conveying. The piloted shut-off valve of each injector arrangement is operable to independently detect a large pressure drop in the pipeline, and to close in order to store pressurised conveying gas in the injector arrangement and supply thereto.

Abstract: An internal inclined sub-channel, or ramp device, for suspending and/or re-suspending solids within a pipeline system during transport of slurry may be provided to various components of the slurry transport system to control or reduce localized and severe wear that often occurs in slurry pumps. Embodiments of the ramp device may be adequately configured to alter slurry multiphase flow patterns and/or disrupt traditional moving/sliding bed regime phenomena. Embodiments of the ramp device may be adequately configured to raise coarse abrasive particulates from bottom portions of a slurry pipe section—where a higher concentration and/or a larger presence of coarser particles may be present. Embodiments of the ramp device may be installed in proximity of and/or upstream of slurry pumps to prevent occurrences of severe localized wear at the inner diameter of the pump suction side wall around the bottom or 6 o'clock position.

Abstract: A method of minimizing material mixing in a piping system during a transition between a first material and a second material includes providing a plurality of pipe pigs in a first pipe section with the plurality of pipe pigs being sufficient to substantially fill a cross-section of the first pipe section and to define a plug having a leading edge and a trailing edge such that the leading edge is in contact with a first material and the trailing edge is in contact with a second material. Each pipe pig has a nominal size that is smaller than an effective diameter of the first pipe section. The plug is moved through the piping system by moving the second material. Advantageously, mixing of the first material and the second material is inhibited by the plug.

Abstract: A tubular or cylindrical unit that creates a vortex effect with externally supplied pressurized fluid injected angularly within a transport structure is provided. Such a unit is utilized to either accelerate the vacuum and/or air conveyance of liquids, solid aggregates, and gases, reduce the energy required for such materials transport processes, or both. Such a result is achieved through the introduction of pressurized fluid via a plurality of injectors situated evenly around the circumference of the subject tube, pipe, and/or cylinder, and angled uniformly for an even pressure injection of fluid within the conveyance component thereof. In effect, through such injection of pressurized fluid, the overall transport system may be operated at significantly reduced cost while increasing the efficiency of overall vacuum and air conveyance systems simultaneously. The method of utilization of such a device is also encompassed within this invention.

Abstract: A snow conveying assembly for use with a snow making machine includes an impeller for receiving snow from the snow making machine and accelerating the snow; and an ejector tube, which receives the snow from the impeller, further accelerates the snow and discharges the snow from the assembly. The ejector tube contains a venturi throat. Snow from the impeller is conveyed via a snow inlet tube into the ejector tube immediately upstream of a venturi throat and air under pressure is blown into the ejector tube upstream of the venturi throat to further accelerate the snow.

The duct further defines an opening. An air movement mechanism may be connected to the duct an configured to move air through the opening into the slide duct in a direction of the slide duct axis such that a greater amount of air exits through the bottom third interior region than either of the top third interior region or the middle third interior region.

Abstract: A distributor head of a distribution agricultural device comprises an outer hoop provided with at least four outlets of the same size, arranged evenly along the circumference of the outer hoop, a movably positioned ring, a main inlet, and a driving mechanism connected with the ring through a ring attachment, wherein the ring is provided with a number of evenly arranged openings of the same size, number of which corresponds to half of the number of outlets. The ring can be in three operating positions, wherein in the first position, the ring is located in the same plane as the outer hoop and therefore covers every other outlet, in the second position it is not located in the same plane as the outer hoop and thus does not cover any outlet, and in the third position it is located in the same plane as the outer hoop and thus covers every other outlet, wherein the outlets covered in the third position are different from the outlets covered in the first position of the ring.
