Abstract: A device for filling containers has a top tray that engages with a bottom tray to fill containers. The bottom tray has a plurality of receiving slots to hold the containers and the top tray has a series of sleeves to insert into the containers for filling. An optional side tray collects excess food for later use or disposal. A method of using the device has the containers being secured by a plurality of receiving slots on the bottom tray, the plurality of sleeves on the top tray inserting into the plurality of containers, and food transferred or poured onto the top surface of the top tray, travelling through top openings on each of the plurality of sleeves to the containers.

Abstract: A system for beverage cartridge preparation allows users to self-select, self-fill, and self-seal single use beverage cartridges for convenience. A frame assembly supports a cartridge handling system and a cartridge filling system. The cartridge filling system includes a fillable container and a portion dispensing system. Abstract: Systems and methods for metering a granular material for packaging in pouches are disclosed. A system includes a hopper structured and arranged to hold a granular material in a hopper cavity. Abstract: A difference between a first expected required polish time for a first substrate and a second expected required polish time for a second substrate is determined using a first pre-polish thickness and a second pre-polish thickness measured at an in-line metrology station. A duration of an initial period is determined based on the difference between the first expected required polish time and the second expected required polish time. For the initial period at a beginning of a polishing operation, no pressure is applied to whichever of the first substrate and the second substrate has a lesser expected required polish time while simultaneously pressure is applied to whichever of the first substrate and the second substrate has a greater expected required polish time. After the initial period, pressure is applied to both the first substrate and the second substrate.

Abstract: A method is for producing individual dosing quantities of a powdered product via a drum dosing device. Individual masses of multiple ejected dosing quantities are sequentially determined. A mass mean value is formed and compared to a predetermined inner target mass range. If the mass mean value is inside the range, the level of the partial vacuum acting on the dosing opening in the filling position remains unchanged, and the above formation of a mass mean value begins anew. If the mass mean value is outside the range, an adapted partial vacuum is ascertained such that in the case of excessively low mass mean value, the level of the partial vacuum is increased, and in the case of excessively high mass mean value, the level of the partial vacuum is decreased. The adapted partial vacuum is applied to the dosing opening in the filling position.

Abstract: A metering roller is for filling a vessel with a portion of a powder product to be metered. The metering roller includes a roller jacket, a filter element, a filter strip, a seal and a clamping core. The roller jacket defines at least one metering opening completely penetrating the roller jacket from its outer side to its inner side, the metering opening being delimited on the inside via a filter element. The filter element is pressed by the clamping core via the filter strip against the inner side of the roller jacket. The seal is arranged between the filter element and the filter strip, the metering opening being exposed to a negative pressure through the filter element via at least one pressure channel in the filter strip. The seal seals a connection of the pressure channel to the metering opening. The seal is an elastomer cured onto the filter strip.
