摘要: Apertured propeller assemblies may include at least one propeller. The at least one propeller may include a propeller hub having a propeller hub wall. A propeller hub bore may be formed by the propeller hub wall. A plurality of propeller blades may extend from the propeller hub wall. At least one propeller service aperture may extend radially through the propeller hub wall in communication with the propeller hub bore. The at least one propeller service aperture may facilitate dual prop configurations, exhaust flare ring attachments and/or other modifications to the at least one propeller. Other propeller assemblies and apertured propeller methods are also disclosed.

摘要: An impeller includes a hub and a plurality of blades. The blades are arranged around the hub, and each blade includes a leading edge, a blade tip, a root portion, a trailing edge, a windward side and a leeward side. The windward side including a first turning point and a second turning point, a first vertical height difference is formed from the blade tip to the first turning point, and a second vertical height difference is formed from the first turning point to the second turning point, and the first vertical height difference is greater than the second vertical height difference. The impeller apparently reduces the noise.

摘要: Propeller for an airplane or boat includes a rotatable hub attachable to a power axle, a ring structure including an inner ring spaced apart from and connected to the hub, and shovel blades fixed to the inner ring. Each shovel blade is connected at an inner lateral edge to an outer surface of the inner ring and is angled rearward. The shovel blades are spaced apart from one another such that a leading edge of each shovel blade does not overlie a trailing edge of an immediately adjacent shovel blade and the trailing edge of each shovel blade does not underlie the leading edge of an immediately adjacent shovel blade. There may be an outer ring around the shovel blades, or separated blade guides on an opposite side of the shovel blades from the inner ring with each blade guide being associated with a respective shovel blade.

摘要: Disclosed is a system for reducing blade tip vortex cavitation by controlling mass flow. The system reduces blade tip vortex cavitation that occurs around blades of a propulsive propeller of a ship when the propulsive propeller rotates to generate force required to propel the ship across the sea by forming a plurality of flow holes in the propeller blades and controlling mass flow through the plurality of flow holes, i.e., appropriately discharging water to the outside or suctioning outside water through the plurality of flow holes, thereby reducing underwater noise and vibration of the hull. The system includes a propeller, a water feeding pipe, a water supply/suction unit, and a controller.

摘要: This disclosure relates to a system for reducing cavitation at a surface that moves relatively with respect to a first fluid. The system comprises a degasser configured to at least partially degas a second fluid. The system also comprises a reservoir in communication with the degasser and configured to house the at least partially degassed second fluid, the reservoir having an outlet that is arranged for directing the second fluid towards the surface. The system is configured such that the directing of the at least partially degassed second fluid towards the surface forms a boundary layer at the surface. The boundary layer is adapted to at least partially increase the negative pressure required to initiate cavitation at the surface so as to reduce the occurrence of cavitation during such relative movement.

摘要: A propeller. The blades of the propeller are characterized by a blade center axis which corresponds to a generator line of a cone to which the blade, or blade thrust surface, conforms. The propeller hub is fixed to the blade at the root, in line with the blade center axis, such that the hub axis and blade center axis lie in the same plane, and the leading edge of the blade is positioned forward (referring to the upstream direction of movement caused by the propeller) of the trailing edge of the blade.
