摘要: A 4-wheel drive vehicle has a driving force control method in which a portion of a driving force for front wheels is distributed to rear wheels through clutches. In a 4-wheel drive state in which a driving force T.sub.p is distributed to rear wheels, for example, if the vehicle is turned leftwards to generate a difference W.sub.R -W.sub.L between left and right rear wheel speeds, it is ensured that a driving force T.sub.R distributed to the right rear wheel, which is an outer wheel during turning of the vehicle, is larger than a driving force T.sub.L distributed to the left rear wheel, which is an inner wheel during turning of the vehicle, thereby providing an enhancement in turning performance. As the difference W.sub.R -W.sub.L between the left and right rear wheel speeds is increased as a result of decreasing of the turning radius of the vehicle, the driving force T.sub.P (=T.sub.L +T.sub.R) distributed to the rear wheels is decreased to avoid an increase in travel resistance. Thus, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of problems such as a deterioration of specific fuel consumption, an abnormal sound generated in a drive system and an increase in the load of the drive system due to an increase in travel resistance during turning of the vehicle.

摘要: A differential apparatus (7) comprises: a differential casing (21) rotated by an engine power; a plurality of pinion gears (65, 66) slidably housed in accommodation holes (63, 64) formed in the differential casing: a pair of side gears (35, 37) geared with each other via the pinion gears, two opposing end surfaces thereof being slid relative to other either directly or via a thrust washer (61); and a block member (47, 91, 97) interposed between two inner circumferential surfaces of the two side gears so as to center the side gears, respectively. In particular, at least one oil sump (77, 79; 95; 101) is formed between the block member and the side gears, to supply lubricant to sliding portions between the block member (47, 91, 97) and the side gears (35, 37) and between two opposing end surfaces of the two side gears, by a centrifugal force generated by the rotating differential casing. Further, it is preferable to further form at least one central oil passage (301, 303, 305) at the centering portion (365) so as to extend from an inner circumferential side to an outer circumferential side of the boss portions (357, 359) of the two side gears (353, 355). Further, it is also preferable to form at least two radial oil passages (881, 885; 977, 978) between inner wall surfaces of the differential casing (821, 921) and the side gears (835, 837; 939, 941), respectively in such a way that a radially inward end thereof communicates with the helical oil passage (877, 879; 979L, 979R) and a radially outward end thereof communicates with sliding portion between the side gear and the differential casing, respectively.

摘要: A differential apparatus includes a differential casing, a pair of side gears and plural pairs of pinion gears. The pinion gears are accommodated in bores formed in the differential casing, respectively. Each pinion gear has an outer diameter smaller than that of a standard gear to be determined corresponding to predetermined gear specifications. With such a forming of the pinion gears, the tip circular thickness of each pinion gear is increased, so that surface pressure at respective tips of the pinion gears is reduced to improve the seizure resistant capability.

摘要: A differential apparatus includes a differential casing, a pair of helical side gears and a pair of helical pinion gears. The helical pinion gears are accommodated in bores formed in the differential casing, respectively. The long and short helical pinion gears have respective first gear portions meshing with the side gears, respectively, and second gear portions meshing with each other. Each gear tooth of the long pinion gear is so tapered that tip thickness of the gear tooth is gradually decreased from an axial end of the gear portion toward the other gear portion. Even if the long pinion gear is inclined by meshing reactive forces, it is possible to ensure sufficient tooth bearing areas at respective tooth faces of the pinion gears.

摘要: A limited slip differential comprises a pair of friction clutches interposed between a pair of pressure rings and a differential casing. The friction clutches are urged toward an engaged condition to reduce a differential action when a pinion mate shaft having a pair of cam portions rotate to urge the pressure rings to move away from each other. The friction clutches are also urged toward the engaged condition to reduce the differential action when supplied with fluid pressure from a hydraulic system. The hydraulic system controls supply and discharge of fluid pressure to and from said friction clutches in view of running conditions of the vehicle, such as for example accelerated conditions.

摘要: This differential apparatus has a differential casing rotated by an engine, side gears on an output side arranged within the differential casing and spline-connected to output shafts, pinion gears for connecting the gears, storing holes for slidably and rotatably storing the gears, a thrust block for receiving thrust forces of the output shafts, washers, respectively opposed to the gears and movably arranged with respect to the thrust block in an axial direction, and a spring for pressing the washers, against the gears, and giving frictional torque to said gears. Accordingly, no thrust forces of the output shafts are inputted to the washer members and the spring and initial torque is released from influences of the thrust forces of the output shafts so that stable differential limiting characteristics can be obtained.

摘要: A ring gear of a differential connected to an engine, and a sun gear and a planetary carrier are connected to left and right output shafts of the differential. A first pinion and a second pinion integrally formed and having different circle radii are carried on a carrier member which is rotatably fitted over the left output shaft. The first pinion is connected to the right output shaft, while the second pinion is connected to the left output shaft. When a hydraulic clutch is brought into an engaged state during clockwise turning of a vehicle, the carrier member is decelerated to accelerate a left front wheel, and a torque is transmitted to the left front wheel. When a hydraulic clutch is brought into an engaged state during counterclockwise turning of a vehicle, the carrier member is accelerated to accelerate a right front wheel, and a torque is transmitted to the right front wheel.

摘要: A differential drive with a differential housing (13) supported in a housing (12) has driving bevel gears (16, 17) and differential bevel gears (22, 23) which engage one another. The differential housing (13) includes a bearing projection (41) with a cylindrical bearing face (39). Furthermore, the differential housing (13) includes a radially extending connecting face (40) with bores (42) to receive coupling pins. A viscous coupling (26) is supported on bearings (55, 57) in a flange housing (47) flanged to the housing (12). The viscous coupling (26) includes a bearing bore (46) which associates the viscous coupling with the differential drive, receives a bearing projection (41) of the differential housing (13), with the flange housing (47) supporting the bearing carrier. Furthermore, a plug-in shaft (58) is provided which, for connecting the hub (32), includes teeth and which itself may be plugged into a toothed bore (60) of the driving bevel gear (17). The coupling housing (27) also includes bores (44) to receive coupling pins (45). After the viscous coupling (26) has been prefitted in the flange housing (47), an axial plug-in assembly procedure is carried out where coupling pins (45) and the plug-in shaft (58) establish a connection with the housing (12) of the differential drive.

The hydraulic actuator, and a multiple disc clutch, wherein the gear pump consists of a plurality of gear pumps each having a pump case formed integrally with the differential case, a first accommodation hole of the pump case, a plurality of second accommodation holes formed at intervals in the circumferential direction of the first accommodation hole, a large-diameter gear rotatively accommodated in the first accommodation hole at a position on the outer surface of a boss portion of the left side gear and arranged to be rotated together with the left side gear, and small-diameter gears rotatively accommodated in the second accommodation holes and engaged to the large-diameter gear.
