    Abstract: An overload suspension system configured for operative engagement to a vehicle having a first leaf spring and second leaf spring to provide auxiliary support to the vehicle when overloaded. A first control arm attached to a first torsion bar has a distal end positioned a separation distance from the first leaf spring. A second control arm attached to the second control arm has a distal end positioned substantially the same separation distance from the second leaf spring. The suspension system operates as an auxiliary suspension only when added weight to the vehicle deflects both leaf springs to contact a respective one of the control arms, thereby preserving the ride and suspension characteristics of the vehicle when the added weight is not present.

    Abstract: A leaf spring for a vehicle. The vehicle has a drivetrain that generates a high frequency vibration that is transmitted into an interior compartment of the vehicle and has a volume that can be heard by a driver and/or passenger. The leaf spring has a primary leaf and a secondary leaf that extends along and underneath the primary leaf. The leaf spring also has a high frequency dampener that is located between the primary and secondary leafs and is spaced apart from a tip liner insert. The high frequency dampener reduces the volume of a high frequency vibration that is present in the interior of the vehicle to a value less than an objectionable level to an occupant during operation of the vehicle. Therefore, the high frequency vibration is not heard by the driver and/or occupant.

    Abstract: Anti-sway apparatus for use on a vehicle such as a car, truck, or trailer. The vehicle includes an elongated frame structure conventionally carried on a wheel-mounted support structure. The apparatus includes a rigid beam connected to one of the vehicle structures, transversally of the frame structure's long axis, for shifting angularly with the structure to which it is connected and substantially vertically with respect thereto. The beam is coupled to the other vehicle structure by an elastic belt which acts to resist angular movement, about its long axis, with respect to the support structure.

    Abstract: A rear suspension system for a motor vehicle according to this disclosure has a pair of cantilever leaf springs that are supported at their forward ends in channel shape portions of the vehicle chassis and pivotally connected at their rearward ends to bracket assemblies secured to an axle tube. A pair of telescopic shock absorber struts interconnect the chassis and the axle tube bracket assemblies. The struts are rigidly secured to the bracket assemblies and function as reaction means to prevent axle windup that might otherwise result from acceleration or braking.
