    摘要: A braking apparatus for a vehicle including a wheel suspension part attached to a body of the vehicle and a wheel hub attached to the wheel suspension part. An attached air-cooled brake disk rotates relative to the wheel suspension part. A protective cover arranged on a side of the brake disk that at least partially covers the brake disk. The protective cover fastened in a stationary manner to the wheel suspension part. The protective cover including an air flow opening feeding cooling air to the brake disk. An airflow control mechanism opens and closes the air flow opening along with reducing and increasing a gap between a radial end side of the brake disk and an inner side of a wheel rim of a vehicle wheel.

    摘要: The invention is in the field of heat shields for aircraft wheel and brake assemblies. More particularly, the invention relates to such heat shields having removable sections. According to an aspect of the invention, a heat shield is provided for attachment to an aircraft wheel having a hub and a tube well concentric with the hub, a web interconnecting the hub and the tube well, and a plurality of torque bars fixed to the wheel generally parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel and spaced from the tube well. The heat shield comprises a plurality of heat shield sections to be disposed between adjacent torque bars and spaced from the tube well, and a plurality of elongate heat shield carriers to be fixed to the wheel generally parallel to the axis of rotation of the wheel and spaced from the tube well with the heat shield carriers superposing the torque bars and engaging the plurality of heat shield sections. The plurality of heat shield sections and the plurality of elongate heat shield carriers define a generally cylindrical wall concentric with the tube well and defining an annular space therebetween.

The invention being comprised of air inducing scoops attached to air holes on the outboard side of a wheel disk. Upon rotation of the wheel, a powerful heat dissipating burst of air is generated, and then directed through air holes of the wheel disk and over the braking structure requiring no power except the rotation of the wheel for drawing air therethrough.
