摘要： Method of regulating the throughput of a roll press having press rollers, a variable-speed drive motor for said press rollers and a feed device having a controllable throughput. Both the speed of the drive motor and also the throughput of the feed device are regulated automatically in two control modes which succeed one another from time to time. During the first control mode, under nominal loading, the roller speed is increased until the actual loading falls below the nominal loading; at less than the nominal loading the feed throughput is increased until the nominal loading has been attained, and after a condition has been reached in which the nominal loading has not been attained by increasing the throughput, the regulation is changed over to the second control mode. During the second control mode, at less than the nominal loading, the roller speed is reduced until the nominal loading has been attained; at the nominal loading the feed throughput is reduced until the loading falls below the nominal value, and after the loading has fallen below the nominal value, during the second control mode, there is a change-over to the first control mode.

摘要： A molding apparatus and method are provided for forming patties from an agglomerable edible material such as meat. The apparatus includes a turret which rotates between a feed station where the edible material is fed upwardly under pressure into one of a plurality of mold cavities and a discharge station where each formed patty is ejected by a piston. An improved sealing means is provided for effecting sealing engagement of a feed spout assembly with the bottom surface of the rotating turret. An improved cut-off band is also provided for separating the formed patties from the turret at the discharge station. Reciprocation of the piston in each mold cavity is regulated by a control means which includes means for limiting the free upward movement of the piston until the cavity opening is fully aligned with a feed opening in the feed spout assembly.

摘要： A method and machine for producing a configurated and specified weight food product in die cavities of a rotary die roll, each of the die cavities being defined by a configurated side wall and a porous bottom wall. During each revolution of the roll a batch of the product is forced into each cavity as the cavities pass beneath a hopper. Upon continued rotation of the roll, the bottom walls of the cavities are moved outwardly so as to force the configurated products from the die cavities. Tempered air at a controlled temperature and at a pressure above that of the atmosphere is directed through the porous bottom walls while the bottom wall is extended so that the configurated product is forced off of the wall and onto a conveyor located beneath the die roll. To facilitate cleaning of the porous dies, the die roll is so constructed that hot water may be directed through the air flow passage during cleaning and the porous bottom wall dies of the drum may be easily removed from the drum without drum disassembly.

摘要： A rotary press with a rotary driven matrix table for holding matrixes having boreholes. During rotation of the matrix table, top and bottom dies are moved in their axial direction towards and away from each other for pressing injected moldable material in the boreholes of the matrix. For production of profiled articles, the bottom and/or top dies are constructed as one outside and at least one inside die which are movable independently of each other. For pressing movement of the outside and inside dies, at least one profiled press roller is provided to assign different pressing paths to the outside and inside dies. The press rollers are provided with a rotary deep-cut groove for guiding the inside die to which a nose-shaped guide head is assigned for engaging the groove. The press rollers are constructed as two exterior disks for guiding the guide surfaces, and one interior disk for guiding the inside die by means of the nose-shaped guide head. The interior disk is located eccentrically, with the eccentricity being adjustable.

摘要： A die segment for a briquetting roll in which the roll is a steel body which is provided with a peripheral groove having a radially outwardly facing bottom wall which is made up of planar chordal segments and having side walls at the side edges of the bottom wall with one side wall inclined inwardly in the outward direction and being in the form of an annular segment of a cone concentric with the axis of the roll and the other side wall substantially radial. The die segments are bodies of hard wear resistant material mounted in the groove, one on each chordal section of the bottom wall of the groove and each has one side inclined to fit the inclined wall of the groove with the other side spaced from and diverging from the radial side wall in the outward direction. Wedge bars between the radial side wall of the groove and the opposed sides of the die segments are utilized for clamping the segments in place in the roll.

摘要： Method and equipment for forming visual display packages from blanks in which a plastic film covers a window region in the package, and in which a tab formed as part of the blank extends into the window region to support an article to be contained in the package and serve as a location for product codes and symbols or other information. At least one pocket is formed in the plastic film to receive an article prior to closing the package. The tab is rotated outward, and when the tab is located adjacent to the transverse axis fold line of the blank it assists in making the completed package free-standing. The tab may be bonded to a portion of the plastic film by a heat responsive thermoplastic coating on the tab.
