Abstract:
A bulkhead system for a concrete casting bed includes a pair of base track members spaced apart from one another along a longitudinal direction and a pair of form walls each removably attached to one of the base track members. Each of the form walls has a lower end abutting one of the base track members and an upper end opposite the lower end in a vertical direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Each of the form walls has a tendon slot extending into the form wall in the vertical direction from at least one of the upper end and the lower end. The tendon slot receives a tendon extending in the longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of an adjustable mold are disclosed for forming a precast concrete top panel for a modular earth retaining wall, for example but not limited to, a modular mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining wall. The adjustable mold has a support base with a top surface, bottom surface, and surrounding periphery. A plurality of rails is mounted to the support base and upstand generally perpendicular from the support base. The rails are collectively attached together to form a closed lateral side boundary with an open top designed to receive liquified concrete. The support base and rails are designed to form sides of the precast concrete top panel. The rails can be adjusted to change a geometric shape associated with the closed lateral boundary in order to enable production of different top panels having different lateral boundaries, and therefore geometries.
Abstract:
A block reinforcement cage made from reinforcing material and adapted for loading within a machine during a block manufacturing process for molding a concrete U-wall construction block structure. The block cage includes an open aperture formed in each of its stem reinforcing portions. During the block manufacturing process, the first and second support members of a support mechanism are inserted within the open apertures formed in the stem reinforcing sections of the block cage, and cooperate with the open apertures of the block cage so as to (i) support the block cage when being loaded into a block manufacturing machine, (ii) define central apertures molded in each stem portion of the concrete U-wall construction block structure, and (iii) lift the molded concrete U-wall construction block when being unloaded from the machine.
Abstract:
A mold set for manufacturing interlocking construction blocks comprising a modular family molds and connecting side walls. The molds may be configured to create assembled female molds that may be filled with fluid cement, which can be removed from the female molds with corresponding male molds. Each assembled female mold may comprise one or more interlocking sections that allow the resulting blocks to interlock in three directions along three axes, including a left/right axis, a front/back axis, and an up/down axis. Each block comprises a specific geometry that allows all blocks in the family to interlock in a woven pattern that not only locks the blocks in place but also allows even distribution of structural weights. The disclosed modular mold sets allow blocks to be manufactured in different sizes to conform to any building code requirement and to create wall lengths to a one-inch measurement.
Abstract:
An upright concrete wall panel form apparatus includes a back panel form to be secured to a base in an upright position, an adjustable support assembly to be secured to the base adjacent the back panel form, and a movable front panel form supported by the adjustable support assembly in an upright position. The movable front panel form is moveable via the adjustable support assembly between a concrete wall panel prep area position and a concrete wall panel forming position. The movable front panel form is aligned with the back panel form in the concrete wall panel forming position so as to define a gap therebetween to receive concrete for forming at least one concrete wall panel in an upright position.
Abstract:
A method for casting a hollow core concrete product with a substantially horizontal slipform casting process, where concrete mass is fed at least in one feeding stage through a limited cross-section (5, 6, 7) moving progressively along with the cast, and at least one core is formed in the concrete product to be cast with a core forming member (4), wherein the thickness of webs between the cores of the product to be cast are changed during the slipform casting process by changing the width of the at least one core forming member (4). The invention also relates to such an apparatus and a core forming member.
Abstract:
A molded concrete U-wall construction block including a molded concrete U-wall construction block structure formed from cured concrete poured about a block cage made from reinforcing material during a block manufacturing process.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lithium silicate glass ceramic comprising CsO2 in an amount from about 6 to about 30 wt.-%. The invention also relates to a three-dimensional article comprising at least two layers (I) and (II), each layer (I) and (II) comprising a lithium silicate glass ceramic, the lithium silicate glass ceramics of layer (I) having a different translucency than the lithium silicate glass ceramic of layer (II).
Abstract:
A flexible mat (1) for providing a dynamically reconfigurable double-curved moulding surface (40) in a mould. The flexible mat (1) comprises a system of rhomboid flat elements (10, 10′, 26, 26′) of an elastic deformable material arranged mutually movably in two or more relatively rotated layers (10, 10′), surrounded by a first upper cloth (6) of an elastic deformable material and a second lower cloth (8) of an elastic deformable material. The cloths (6, 8) are imperviously joined along their lateral limits and form an adjustable impervious chamber. The flexible mat (1) is adapted to be mechanically connected to the free ends (42) of a number of actuators (3) in such a way that the position of a given point on the surface (40) formed by the flexible mat (1) is determined on the basis of the position of the free end (42) of an associated given actuator (3). The mat (1) is capable of forming a uniform, continuous double-curved surface.
Abstract:
A concrete side form system suitable for factory casting or site casting concrete. The side form includes a substantially rigid longitudinally extending wall. The wall has a first face to define the edge profile of a concrete panel poured onto a casting bed bounded by the wall and a second face opposite the first face having formation to enable the wall to be secured to the casting bed. The wall includes a longitudinally extending frame having formation along at least one of its edges to removably receive a removable longitudinal insert to provide a shape along an edge of the concrete panel. The removable inserts provide the system with the ability to simply, easily and cost effectively change the edge profile of concrete poured against the side form.
