Abstract:
An apparatus for recycling synthetic thermoplastic waste material combining heretofore multiple stage processing steps in a single stage shredder grinder pulverizer device. The apparatus has multiple interchangeable material processing blade sets on respective effacing engageable rotating and fixed blade mounts within a cooled material infeed and blade containment enclosure with multiple vacuum outlet ports and communicating vacuum ducts to draw off and transport processed material therefrom for separation and classification, as required. Each replaceable interchangeable processing blade set includes registerable shredding and grinding blades and annular pulverizing blade sets on fixed and movable mediums for progressive processing of waste material into uniform recyclable material.
Abstract:
A reducing machine having an air cooled cutting discs is disclosed. The air cooled discs have cutting surfaces on both sides. The cutting surfaces have edges which are sharpened for cutting input material when the cutting surface is facing the cutting surface of the opposed disc. When the cutting surface of the stationary disc is facing the housing, the cutting surface acts as a heat sink to air cool the stationary disc and the mill assembly in general. Air inlets in the housing lid permit air to flow over the cooling surface of the stationary plate. Air inlets in the carrying plate permit the carrying plate to channel air flow over the rotating cooling surface. A damper restricts air flow over the air cooling surfaces to control the temperature of the reducing machine, such as during start up.
Abstract:
A device for comminuting bulk charge stock with a housing surrounding a rotational axis. The housing has a first front wall, a second front wall plane parallel at an axial distance and a shell wall connecting the first front wall and second front wall on the circumferential side, which together form a comminuting chamber. A comminuting system rotating about the rotational axis is arranged in the comminuting chamber, which comminuting system has first comminuting tools and second comminuting tools interacting therewith, which form a concentric comminuting zone for charge stock. In order to cool the comminuting zone effectively and economically, a cooling channel is provided, which surrounds the shell wall outside in the plane of the comminuting chamber, wherein the cooling channel has an entry opening for charging with cooling gas and an exit opening for the discharge of the cooling gas.
Abstract:
This invention relates to the art of methods and apparatuses for grinding various materials into smaller particles; particularly, to those known in the art as pulverizing systems and devices. This invention provides methods and apparatuses for an improved disc mill assembly that utilizes a tapered flywheel and water jacket in conjunction with planar grinding disk cutting devices to create a tapered grinding channel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a grinding apparatus for vegetable or fibrous raw material comprising a casing surrounding grinding discs mounted rotatably relatively one another and means for supplying steam under high pressure, so called primary steam, together with the raw material into the casing, where the introduced material is ground in the interspace between the grinding disc, the ground material being discharged from the casing through an outlet controlled by an adjustable valve. In order to keep the quantity of steam escaping from the casing along with the discharged produce, the outlet valve is devised to be actuated by the pressure in the casing via a control device responsive to said pressure which is determined, in addition to the action of the primary steam, by secondary steam supplied separately through a conduit to the casing.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a grinding apparatus of the type having grinding discs arranged in a housing of which at least one is rotatable and which between themselves form a grinding space for the grinding produce such as wooden chips fed dispersed in an aqueous vehicle to the centre of the space to be forced therethrough in outward direction under strong axial grinding pressure. Under this procedure the temperature of the vehicle is increased which results in evaporation of water which in turn unfavourably affects the produce such as the wooden chips the fibres of which may be locally overheated and miscoloured. To counteract this evaporation of water, ducts are formed in the grinding discs, at least the stationary one for supply of water to the grinding space between the discs. This arrangement is particularly useful when the grinding discs are composed of concentrical elements defining an outwardly decreasing grinding space permitting a highly advanced desintegration of the starting material.
Abstract:
A disc mill having a pair of milling discs mounted on each end of drive shaft, well suited to milling of thermoplastic materials in an air stream. One of the discs of each pair rotates and structure is provided for circulating air for cooling over the rotating disc. The other disc can be stationary and water cooled. One disc working surface can be flat, the other inclined, with the flat surface terminating outwardly of the inclined surface; this facilitates alignment. The pressure of a small airstream passing through an orifice in the housing can be sensed to determine pressure change in the housing accompanying a change in the flow of the main air stream which would give rise to overheating of the thermoplastic material.
