    摘要: A method and device for dewatering most liquid/solid solutions and slurries is described. A dewatering device having a dewatering pump in fluid communication with a filter rack with vertically arrayed filter elements that is carried by a container. To begin the dewatering process, the filter rack is lowered to the bottom of the container and the liquid/solid slurry is introduced. Next, the dewatering pump draws the liquid from the slurry into the filter rack and then to the pump. When dewatering efficiency decreases, the dewatering operation is momentarily stopped and the filter elements of the filter rack are backpulsed with air and raised to dislodge the filter cakes that have formed. The filter rack is then relowered and the dewatering operation continues. These steps of dewatering, backpulsing, raising the filter rack, and lowering filter rack are continued until the container is full of dewatered solids. Alternatively, the filter rack is affixed to the top of the container and the liquid/solid slurries are introduced until the container is mostly full. Next dewatering operations commence and continue until the container is full of dewatered solids.

    摘要: A filter-replacement cassette for an extruder. A housing (1) has at least one bore. The bores (2 & 3) extend above and below and at a right angle to the horizontally flowing plastic. A cartridge (4 or 5) that accommodates a replaceable filter (5) slides back and forth inside each bore. The object is to facilitate start-up operation. The cartridge accordingly has at least one tap (7, bore 15, or bore 45) permanently integrated into it in addition to the replaceable filter. The housing accommodates either a cartridge or a start-up outlet bore (16, 36, or 47). While the cartridge is in a prescribed position, the start-up outlet bore can communicate with the cartridge's tap and with an intake channel (13 or 31) for the extrudate.

    摘要: A filter arrangement includes at least two filter chambers that are alternately impinged upon through the activation of a reversing valve, a manually operated reversing lever, a compensation valve which can be activated for pressure compensation between the filter chambers, and a detent device to enable the reversing valve to be activate in dependence on the activation of the compensation valve. The reversing lever is configured in the form of a two-armed pivoted lever mounted on the reversing valve so that it can pivot such that the lever arm facing away from the handle part of the reversing lever activates the compensation valve during the pivoting movement. The second lever arm forms the handle part and moves the detent device out of its locking position and into the release position enabling the activation of the reversing valve.

    摘要: A dual filter system for diesel fuel is provided, which allows the operator to keep the diesel engine running while inspecting or replacing one of the two fuel filters. The system includes an upper block which is divided into two identical mirror image sections. Each section has a shutoff valve, a fuel filter and a one-way check valve. Fuel is introduced into a common passageway and flows equally to each side of the upper block. Fuel is fed through each filter and filtered fuel moves through the one-way check valve to a common outport. In order to inspect or replace one filter, the fuel to the filter to be replaced is simply, shut off by the cutoff valve. All of the fuel then flows through the opposite side. The one-way check valves prevent fuel flowing through the opposite side from flowing back into the side which is being serviced. Air bleed valves are also provided in order to put the new filter side back in operation.

    摘要: A molten polymer filtration assembly includes at least three independently controllable and removable filter housings which extend from a common inlet passage to a common outlet passage, thereby providing parallel flow paths for polymer filtration. Each of the filter housings includes an inlet valve controlling the flow of polymer from the inlet passage, an outlet valve controlling the flow of polymer to the outlet passage, and a filtration passage which extends between the inlet and outlet valves and houses a candle-type filtration element. When the inlet and outlet valves are opened, the filter housing is on-stream and allows polymer to flow from the inlet to the outlet passage. Each filter housing is individually controllable, and can be set in an on-stream state independent of the state of any of the other filter housings, such that any number of filter housings can be on-stream at a given time. By setting the number of on-stream filter housing in correspondence with the polymer flow rate, the polymer residence time can be maintained in a relatively narrow range of durations over a wide range of polymer flow rates, thereby ensuring that the polymer residence time within the filtration system remains below an acceptable duration and that the polymer residence time is regulated to avoid significant fluctuation or variances in the polymer residence time. Interlocks prevent the closure of the outlet valve of each filter housing unless the inlet valve for that housing is closed. Removal of any filter housing is prevented unless its valves are both closed.

    摘要: A flow control assembly is provided with a cartridge which includes a body sized and shaped so as to be received in a housing of fluid handling apparatus, such as duplex strainers and diverter valves. The body has a first chamber and a second chamber adjacent to the first chamber. The first chamber includes a first fluid inlet and first and second fluid outlets, while the second chamber includes second and third fluid inlets and a third fluid outlet. A first valve is movably positioned in the first chamber. The first valve is movable between a first position, in which fluid passes from the first fluid inlet to the first fluid outlet, and a second position, in which fluid passes from the first fluid inlet to the second fluid outlet. A second valve is also movably positioned in the second chamber. The second valve is movable between a third position, in which fluid passes from the second fluid inlet to the third fluid outlet, and a fourth position, in which fluid passes from the third fluid inlet to the third fluid outlet. A moving mechanism is provided for conjointly moving the first and second valves such that the first valve is in the first position when the second valve is in the third position and such that the first valve is in the second position when the second valve is in the fourth position.
