Abstract: An arrangement for supporting from a wall or column a martial arts dummy. The dummy has a vertically-extending, cylindrical body member that carries outwardly-extending arms and a leg to generally simulate a person for martial arts training and practice. A mounting bar that can be secured to a wall or column supports a pair of parallel, horizontal rods that carry a horizontal slat that passes laterally through the vertically-extending body of the dummy to allow side-to-side movement of the dummy along the slat. The outer ends of the rods include a stop member. Respective first and second springs are positioned between the slat and the mounting bar and between the slat and the stop members to allow forward and backward movement of the dummy in response to blows applied by the user.

Abstract: An apparatus for holding an American football includes a CPVC horizontal arm, removably attached to a vertical post composite, that is removably attached to a securing means. The horizontal arm has an elbow tip removably attached at one end that holds the tip of the football. On the other end of the horizontal arm is a swivel elbow, removably attached to the vertical post composite. The the vertical post is comprised of two parallel materials, half inch PVC on the outside, stronger and smaller diameter half inch CPVC on the inside. There is a bolt dowel near the bottom of the vertical post composite that holds the parallel materials together. The structural composite of the vertical post is shorter than the length of a football. The structural composite of the vertical post insures the horizontal arm will not slip past the exact position the of vertical post is built for.

Abstract: A batting aid that may easily be installed upon fixed or temporary structures, made up of a main frame that slidably supports a tube which in turn supports a ball for a batter to hit. The ball is fixed to the tube by a wire cable that extends through the ball, and is in turn mounted to the tube. The tube is height adjustable so that batters of differing stature and ages can easily practice upon balls at varied heights. The assembly is strong in construction so that a practicing batter is able to hit the ball hard and not cause damage or require another player to throw balls over the plate or return balls to the batter.

Abstract: Practice ball hitting device with a hollow housing made of molded rigid plastic material having a parallel pair of spaced apart triangular side planes joined at their perimeter by a flat plane that forms a bottom and inwardly angled sides, the flat sides having a removed U shaped section at the apex portion of the triangular planes, an S shaped low mass arm having an integral, horizontally disposed shaft, the shaft being slip fit into sockets on the inside face of said U shaped cut out section, said S shaped arm terminating at each end in a ball shape, and said lower section of said housing capable of retaining water which acts as a stabilizing element. An optical encoder on the end of the shaft interacts with a photo diode to measure number of rotations of the shaft. A microprocessor translates the number of rotations into distance the ball is hit. A numeric display or an audible sound tells the distance the ball has been hit.

Abstract: An apparatus for training body movements in athletics includes a waist strap configured for attachment around the torso of a wearer and having a plurality of attachment rings connected detachably thereto, and a shoulder strap configured for attachment around the wearer's shoulders and having two cooperating ends. The shoulder strap is configured to extend around the wearer's shoulders and under the wearer's arms such that the cooperating ends are connectable together at a point located substantially between the wearer's shoulder blades. The shoulder strap further includes a plurality of attachment rings connected detachably thereto. The apparatus may further include leg straps configured for attachment around the wearer's legs and arm straps configured for attachment around the wearer's arms. The leg and arm straps may each include a plurality of attachment rings connected detachably thereto. Furthermore, a plurality of elastic bands may be connected in a predetermined arrangement to the attachment rings connected to the waist strap, the shoulder strap, the leg straps and the arm straps for exerting pressure in directions opposite to the directions of intended body movements or stabilized postures for the athletic movement.
