    摘要: A backflow valve assembly for preventing gas and backup waste from escaping a floor drain includes a tube that is configured to fluidically couple to a drain line. A pipe is coupled to and axially positioned in the tube. The pipe has upper and lower ends that are closed. At least one gasket is coupled to an inner surface of the pipe and defines upper and lower chambers. Penetrations are positioned through the pipe to allow flow of gasses and liquids into the pipe. First and second balls, which are less dense than water, are positioned in the upper and lower chambers, respectively. The first ball prevents escape of the gasses from the tube. The first ball floats to open the gasket to permit the flow of the liquids to the drain line. The second ball floats to close the gasket to prevent escape of waste from the tube.

    摘要: Irrigation valves for channels and for irrigation tanks are of three types. All are activated by a pair of tilting float arms to which a pair of floats are attached. One type is a T-shaped duct with a cylindrical valve disposed at 90 degrees to the part that is connected to the incoming flow. The floats rotate the valve. The second type has the same construction as the first type, thereby giving flow control but additionally has a rise and fall gate in the duct part that is connected to the incoming flow. The gate acts as a stop valve. The third type has a cylindrical duct connectable to the incoming flow but no valve and provides both flow control and stop valve facilities through a rise and fall gate actuated by the tilting of the float arms.

    摘要: The air release valve 10 includes an elongate valve body 12 including an elongate pipe section 14 that has a top wall 16 and a bottom wall secured to opposite ends thereof, thus defining a cylindrical internal chamber 20 within the valve body 12. The valve body 12 further includes a baffle plate arrangement 22 dividing the internal chamber 20 into a top part 24 and a bottom part 26. The bottom wall 18 of the valve body 12 defines an inlet 38 which is connectable to a water pipeline 69. The top wall 16 defines an outlet 40 which operatively communicates with the atmosphere. A valve seat 42, including an O-ring seal 44, surrounds the outlet 40 and permits blocking of the outlet 40 by a valve closure 46, which in combination with a float 48, forms a valve closure arrangement 50 of the air release valve 10.

A pivoting valve member is pivotally movable between a normally open position along the bottom of the valve body and a closed position sealing the inlet. The valve member has a hinge end, a remote end, and opposed sides. A float is positioned as an appendage along at least one of the opposed sides of the valve member, such that the float adds buoyancy to the valve member causing the valve member to float into the closed position in the presence of a backflow.

    摘要: A surge flushing device for wastewater systems and the like includes a wastewater channel having an arc-shaped wall portion, as well as a flushing blade element having a marginal portion thereof shaped to selectively mate with the wall portion of the channel, and mounted for shifting in a direction generally perpendicular to the direction of flow in the channel between a lowered, closed position, and a raised, open position. A gasket has a base portion supported on the marginal portion of the blade element and an elastically deformable lip portion which protrudes radially outwardly therefrom, and abuttingly engages the wall portion of the channel when the blade element is in the lowered, closed position, in an elastically deformable curved shape which opens outwardly in a direction opposite to the direction of flow in the channel to selectively form a secure seal therebetween.

The actuating device ensures that a flap closes precisely when a nominal filling level is reached, and does not open again even under intense fluctuation of the liquid level.
