    摘要: The present invention relates to an opening/closing mechanism equipped with a self-lock device; the opening/closing mechanism includes a baseplate(1), a fairing(2), a fairing support arm(3), and a powered push cylinder(4); wherein the baseplate(1) is provided with a rotating shaft(5), one end of the fairing support arm(3) is sleeved on the rotating shaft(5), while the other end is connected with the fairing(2) by means of a fairing mounting base(6); the baseplate(1) is provided with a closed-state limit stop(7) and an open-state limit stop(8); a locking device(9) is arranged between the fairing support arm(3) and the powered push cylinder(4), one end of the said locking device(9) can move in the sliding groove of the fairing support arm(3), while the other end is installed on the powered push cylinder(4). The invention is simple and reliable in structure, low in cost, high in stability, and convenient for examination and repair. A power source is used for realization of opening and closing of the opening/closing mechanism, mechanical self-lock is achieved by means of over “dead point” for locking the opening/closing mechanism so as to hold at established state without additional power sources.

The guide surface is inclined relative to the local direction of the main air flow so that it confers on the part of the main air flow that impacts the guide surface a speed component that runs perpendicular to the local direction of the main air flow and induces turbulence in the air flow downstream of the obstructing element.

    摘要: An aerodynamic device is arranged for mounting to a vehicle or a trailer for reducing its wind resistance. The aerodynamic device includes at least one sheet material arranged to be mounted to the vehicle/trailer and associated with a corresponding wall portion of the vehicle/trailer. Each wall portion has an outer surface and an inner surface and extends towards the rear of the vehicle/trailer. In a deployed first state, each sheet material is arranged to at least partly extend beyond a rearmost position of the wall portion. In a stored second state, each sheet material is arranged to be inserted such that is faces towards the inner surface. A vehicle or a trailer including the aerodynamic device is also provided.

    摘要: A self-drafting device for reducing the aerodynamic drag of sub-sonic vehicles includes an extension projecting forward from the vehicle in order to generate turbulence between a distal (forward) end of the extension and the vehicle itself, in order to reduce aerodynamic drag on the vehicle. The device may include a draft plate to increase the cross sectional area of the distal end and the draft plate may be tilted with respect to a vertical direction. The tilt, cross-sectional size and or extension of the device may be adjustable, and may be dynamically controlled by one or more motors during operation of the vehicle in conformity with a pressure profile across the vehicle that is measured using pressure sensors. The extension may be automatically retracted, e.g., a telescoping extension may be drawn under the hood of an automobile as the velocity of the vehicle decreases.

The housing includes an outer portion, an inner portion, an air-flow channel, at least a first air inlet, and at least an air outlet. The air-flow channel is disposed between the outer portion and the inner portion of the housing. The first air inlet is disposed in the front of the vehicle. The air outlet is disposed at the back of the vehicle. The first air inlet and the air outlet are connected to the air-flow channel. The front wheels and the rear wheels are driven by a power unit. The length of the air-flow channel is no less than that of the upper portion of the housing. The vehicle consumes less energy and travels more stably compared to conventional vehicles.

    摘要: Disclosed is a series of stacked intermodal containers, being pulled by a locomotive of a train, with aerodynamic drag reducing devices. The series includes at least a first, leading set of containers and a second, trailing set of containers. The first, leading set of containers has an aerodynamic drag reducing device with a drag reducing fairing and an attachment frame attached thereto facing a forward direction. The attachment frame includes at least one mounting device configured to be removably mounted in the tunnel of the top container of the first, leading set of containers. Additionally, the second, trailing set of containers may include a second, aerodynamic drag reducing device, also attached via a gooseneck tunnel. Curtains may also be attached between a plurality of intermediate or adjacent sets of stacked containers to assist in reducing drag on the train when moving.
