摘要： A communications device, connectable to a digital network, such as an ISDN, for setting up a voice call to a remote telephone via the network, the device comprising logic for sending a call signal to the network to establish a call via the network to a local telephone, characterized by call transfer logic for sending further signals to the network to transfer the established call to the remote telephone in response to a confirmation signal from the network indicating that the local telephone has been answered, thereby establishing a voice call between the local telephone and the remote telephone. In one embodiment the device is in the form of a communications adapter for a personal computer.

摘要： In a personal communication system in which a call is originated from a calling side terminal equipment using number information allocated to a called person and the call is processed on the called side terminal equipment as a personal call, the system comprises: a proxy answering section disposed on the called side terminal equipment, for transmitting proxy answer information indicating that a proxy person other than the called person intends to answer the personal call, to the calling side terminal equipment when the number information allocated to the proxy person is inputted during a processing of the personal call; and a notifying section disposed on the calling side terminal equipment, for notifying a calling person that the proxy person intends to answer. Therefore, when a personal call is incoming, if the designated specific called person is absent, the calling person can recognize that the called person is absent and that the proxy person can answer, and then can select cancellation of the personal call, answer by the proxy person, or transfer of the personal call, according to the calling person's will.

To that end, a digital signal processor (DSP) and a second memory (ROM) with program modules for executing the functions of "automatic operator" and/or "mailbox" are integrated in a digital telephone (TE4). 摘要： A facsimile and a facsimile system are connected to an inside bus of an ISDN (integrated services digital network). When trouble, such as no toner, jam, no paper or the like, has occurred in a recording unit of a first facsimile apparatus on the inside bus, the first facsimile apparatus issues an announcement of interruption onto the bus. A second facsimile apparatus on the above-described bus monitors a signal on the bus. When the second facsimile has detected the announcement of interruption, it performs substituting reception in place of the first facsimile apparatus. It is thereby possible to maintain the continuation of communication even if trouble has occurred during reception and recording.
