Abstract:
In a personal communication system in which a call is originated from a calling side terminal equipment using number information allocated to a called person and the call is processed on the called side terminal equipment as a personal call, the system comprises: a transfer requesting section disposed on the called side terminal equipment, for transmitting a transfer request signal to the calling side terminal equipment when a predetermined transfer request is inputted during a processing of the personal call; and a notifying section disposed on the calling side terminal unit, for notifying the calling person that transferring the personal call is requested. Therefore, when a personal call is incoming, if the designated specific called person is absent, the calling person can recognize the absence of the called person and then select cancellation of the personal call, proxy answer by another person, or transfer of the personal call, according to the calling person's will.
Abstract:
An incoming call transfer terminal for transferring to a third-party terminal a call-setting message coming from a calling terminal. The incoming call transfer terminal receives the call-setting message over a first communication channel from the calling terminal. Given the message, the incoming call transfer terminal generates a new call-setting message destined to the third-party terminal by keeping intact those parts of the original message which are needed to establish a through communication channel from the calling terminal to the third-party terminal; by also preserving such information unique to the calling terminal as a calling sub-address and a called sub-address to be transmitted unchanged to the third-party terminal; and by rewriting other parts of the original message to indicate that the call is being transferred from the incoming call transfer terminal. The calling number of the calling terminal is transferred as carried on the calling sub-address, called sub-address or user-user information. The call-setting message thus generated is sent automatically to the third-party terminal over a second communication channel.
Abstract:
A first ISDN terminal transmits a receipt result information report to a second ISDN terminal via a D-channel after the first ISDN terminal receives a data from the second ISDN terminal. The data comprises image information. The image information is transmitted via a B-channel. The receipt result information report indicates a result of receiving of the image information for confirmation by the second ISDN terminal of the receiving at the first ISDN terminal. The D-channel is used for transmitting predetermined protocol information between the ISDN terminals. The predetermined protocol information includes an identification information. The identification information is used for controlling a connection between the ISDN terminals.
Abstract:
A communication terminal apparatus connected to an integrated services digital network to transmit data from an outgoing call office to an incoming call office and a method of controlling the communication terminal apparatus, in which notification of a person to be called for an incoming signal and acceptance or rejection of the incoming signal are controlled on the basis of predetermined identification data contained in the incoming signal. When detecting the identification data contained in the incoming signal, the present apparatus compares the detected identification data with registration identification data previously registered so that, if the apparatus finds a coincidence therebetween, it informs the user of corresponding to the coincided identification data visually by character data or audibly by a sound. If the apparatus fails to find a coincidence therebetween then it rejects the acception of the incoming signal containing this identification data, while if it finds a coincidence then it grants the acception of the incoming signal containing the coincided identification data.
Abstract:
A time and charges information delivery arrangement is disclosed utilizing an intelligent telecommunications station (intelligent phone) for displaying that information after a termination of a call. The intelligent phone is equipped to handle CCITT (International Consultative Committee for Telephone and Telegraph) standard Layer 3 (Q.931) call control messages defined for message associated user-to-user information (MA-UUI), and is connected to a central telephone office switching system via an integrated services digital network (ISDN) basic rate interface (BRI). After an operator assistance call is terminated, the operator assistance system that processed the call sends a Q.931 SETUP message to the intelligent phone over an ISDN signaling channel (D-channel). The message includes a data block, comprising time and charges information. When the intelligent phone receives the message, it ignores the call setup request, and simply displays the information sent in the message. Thus, without any action by an operator, a public telephone customer receives time and charges information for the terminated call, without establishing a new call (B-channel call) between the operator assistance system and the intelligent phone.
Abstract:
An initialization arrangement is disclosed that allows call services defined in service profiles stored in a switching system to be enabled for individual terminals in a multipoint configuration without requiring assignment of terminal endpoint identifiers or virtual channel identifiers at subscription time. The call services are enabled for a terminal when the terminal transmits two identifiers to the switching system, one identifier defining the terminal and the other identifier defining a service profile. The switching system includes the identifier of the service profile in broadcast messages to address terminals with features defined by that service profile. Two embodiments of the invention are disclosed, one applicable in a narrowband integrated service digital network (ISDN) and the other applicable in a broadband ISDN (BISDN).
Abstract:
A communication terminal device, interconnecting with a network system like the ISDN system, is configured by a CPU and a memory which stores calling identification numbers and called identification numbers with respect to communication companions who are registered in advance. Herein, one calling identification number and at least one called identification number are registered with respect to each communication companion. At a communication-sending event, a user designates a desired communication companion so that its calling identification number is automatically read out from the memory; and consequently, the communication terminal device automatically calls up the desired communication companion through the network system. At a communication-receiving event, the communication terminal device is informed of a calling party number corresponding to a calling party who accesses thereto through the network system. Then, the communication terminal device searches a called identification number, which coincides with the calling party number, within the called identification numbers registered in the memory. Thus, the calling party is identified based on the called identification number searched, so that the communication terminal device automatically performs a specific communication control which is set for the calling party identified.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus includes a reception unit for receiving discrimination information for discriminating a calling party terminal equipment; a memory for storing the information received by the reception unit if no response is made to the call reception; and an output unit for visually outputting the information stored in the memory. The communication apparatus may further include a counter for counting the number of call receptions for each calling party number stored in the memory; and a unit for notifying one of the count result by the counter. The communication apparatus may also include a unit for determining if a call reception from a communication network is to be responded to or not; and a unit for calling the calling party after the display by the display unit, in response to an entry of a predetermined key.
Abstract:
In a communication apparatus connected to an ISDN and having a telephone function, the arrangement is such that when a call is received from another party's facsimile machine, the number of the sending party received is stored in memory. When depression of a communication start switch by the operator is detected during communication by facsimile, a call is made by telephone based on the stored sending party's number. When a call is made to the other party's fdacsimile machine, the other party's dial number is stored. If it is detected that the operator has taken a handset off the hook during communication by facsimile, a call is made by telephone based on the other party's dial number that has been stored.
Abstract:
A terminal in communication network for notifying an originating party's number is disclosed which transfers the subscriber's number of an originating party to a terminating party at the time of setting up an incoming call. A plurality of subscriber's numbers of those from whom incoming calls are anticipated and ID information corresponding to each of the subscriber's number are pre-registered. An output command indicating that one of the registered subscriber's number has coincided with the subscriber's number of an originating party transferred at the time of occurrence of the incoming call is generated. In response to the output command, an audible indication of the ID information corresponding to the registered subscriber's number is provided.
