Abstract:
A facsimile communication system includes a first facsimile device that transmits image data and a second facsimile device. The second facsimile device includes a first receiving unit that receives the image data; an image-forming unit that forms an image based on the image data on a recording medium having a first storing part that is configured to store stored data; and a notifying unit that notifies the first facsimile device of the stored data.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes an image data receiving unit which receives image data; a related data receiving unit which receives related data which relates to the image data; a data writing unit which writes the related data received by the related data receiving unit to a first storage unit; and a setting unit which is configured to set a write prohibition setting which prohibits writing of the related data to the first storage unit.
Abstract:
A method for processing non-standard facilities frames by T.38 gateways, wherein the T.38 gateways includes at least one transmitting gateway and at least one receiving gateway, the transmitting gateway is connected with a transmitting facsimile machine, and the receiving gateway is connected with a receiving facsimile machine. The method includes: a) the transmitting gateway and the receiving gateway determining the types of all received V.21 frames; b) when the receiving gateway or the transmitting gateway receives a non-standard frame NSF, modifying the non-standard frame NSF, so that the corresponding receiving facsimile machine or transmitting facsimile machine is unable to receive a correct NSF frame; c) the receiving gateway encapsulating the modified NSF frame data, or the transmitting gateway modulating the modified NSF frame data and transmitting the modulated frame data. The method modifies the rate negotiation performed with proprietary frames as a negotiation performed with standard frames.
Abstract:
A method that involves recognizing an incoming FAX call at a destination edge node, the destination edge node supportive of at least two FAX transport manners. A first control packet is sent from the destination edge node to an originating edge node that effectively requests transmission of the FAX call according to one of the FAX transport manners. A second control packet is sent from the originating edge node to the destination edge node that effectively confirms or refuses to confirm transmission of the FAX call according to one of the FAX transport manners.
Abstract:
A method of a facsimile apparatus includes the steps of providing the facsimile apparatus with a memory which prestores identification information for a plurality of different facsimile machines having common specifications of optional frames, receiving a call for a facsimile communications operation using an optional frame and then identification information from a calling facsimile machine, verifying the identification information sent from the calling facsimile machine with the identification information prestored in the memory, canceling performance of the facsimile communications operation using the optional frame when the identification information sent from the calling facsimile machine is different from the identification information prestored in the memory, and executing the facsimile communications operation using the optional frame when the identification information sent from the calling facsimile machine is identical to the identification information prestored in the memory.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an image forming apparatus having ability information of an available finisher, including a detection unit which detects the stop state of post-processing by the first finisher, a search unit which, when the detection unit detects the stop of the first finisher, searches a finisher that can alternatively perform processing to be executed by the first finisher based on the ability information, and a generation unit which generates post-processing setting information for the second finisher found by the search unit.
Abstract:
When a print command that designates a layout recording function by its upper layer, and designates a frame print function by its lower layer is transmitted from a camera to a printer, the printer determines a layout print function that prints a plurality of images on a single sheet, based on the upper layer. In a case where the printer can determine the lower layer of the command, the printer acquires details of a layout. In a case where the printer cannot determine the lower layer of the command, the printer determines a normal frame print function. The printer prints a normal layout image or special frame image in accordance with the determined layout of images.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for determining if a data set for transmission can be set directly via e-mail, given predetermined thresholds for sending, or whether it is more expedient to reroute the data set to a web site. Every time a user sends document to e-mail, transparently the size of the document and job is compared to the thresholds and the system automatically determines the best available routing, reformatting if necessary.
Abstract:
An image processing system is capable of establishing that identification information is added to print includes a detector for detecting whether a printer will add identification information to printed matter when transferring image data from an electronic apparatus which processes the image data to the printer, to ensure the positive addition of the identification information to the printed matter.
Abstract:
An image processing system is capable of proving that identification information is added to a print by providing a function (305 to 307, particularly 307, in FIG. 3 Flow chart) for detecting whether a printer has a function for adding the identification information to a printed matter when transferring image data from an electronic apparatus (201 in FIG. 1) which processes the image data to the printer to ensure positive addition of the identification information to the printed matter.
