Abstract:
An information processing apparatus communicates with a fax apparatus and provides a chat service. The information processing apparatus includes an acceptance unit that accepts an execution instruction on a channel of the chat service from a user and a transmission unit that transmits, based on acceptance of the execution instruction by the acceptance unit, to the fax apparatus, an instruction for the fax apparatus to transmit image data uploaded to the channel of the chat service to a transmission destination and the image data.
Abstract:
An image communication apparatus having an Internet facsimile communication device and a G3 facsimile communication device includes a detector for detecting a facsimile function of a communication partner's apparatus during communication by the G3 facsimile communication device, and a controller for performing control of causing the G3 facsimile communication device to disconnect communication in a G3 facsimile mode and shifting to communication by the Internet facsimile communication device, based on the detection of the facsimile function of the communication partner's apparatus by the detector.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an Internet FAX apparatus which, after receiving an Internet address from a certain destination, can communicate with the same destination in later transmission or during communication by connecting to a LAN and switching to an Internet FAX mode requiring no communication charge. An Internet facsimile apparatus on the receiving side transmits its Internet facsimile function and Internet address on an NSF signal in a standard protocol of G3 facsimile transmission and/or transmits its telephone number, Internet facsimile function, and Internet address on TSI and NSS signals in the standard protocol of G3 facsimile communication. The Internet facsimile apparatus registers an Internet facsimile function and Internet address of a partner apparatus as destination data. The Internet facsimile apparatus communicates with the partner apparatus by using the Internet address in the destination data in later transmission or by disconnecting ordinary facsimile mode communication and switching to the Internet FAX mode.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention includes a fax communication system for communicating fax information transmitted from a sending fax device to a fax recipient through a packet switching network. The sending fax device includes a data pump for modulating and demodulating fax information and a protocol subsystem for encoding and decoding the modulated fax information. The fax sending fax device modulates the fax information prior to transmission thereof. At least one access server is coupled between the sending fax device and the fax recipient and within the packet switching network At least one of the access servers receives modulated fax information from the sending fax device and demodulates the received fax information. The fax relay server is responsive to the demodulated fax information and operative to decode the received demodulated fax information for transmission thereof to the fax recipient, wherein the at least one access server and fax relay server function as a network distributed fax device allowing for expansion of fax functionality throughout the network while preserving the reliability and robustness of the network.
Abstract:
The facsimile apparatus of this invention performs recognition processing by storing image data received from a transmitting terminal and by decoding the image data stored. The image data received is relayed and transmitted to multiple destinations on the basis of the result of this recognition.
Abstract:
Image processing apparatus and method perform a predetermined compression processing for an input original. A compression processing method or a receiver of compressed data is changed in accordance with a color/black-and-white status discrimination for the input original, or is set manually.
Abstract:
A data communication apparatus and associated method for switching from the Compatible mode to the ECM mode. The data communication apparatus receives a protocol message transmitted by a second data communication apparatus in accordance with a Compatible mode of operation. The first data communication apparatus then inverts the polarity of the received protocol message so that the inverted polarity protocol message is formatted in accordance with a G3 mode of operation. Then, the first data communication apparatus determines from the inverted polarity protocol message that the second data communication apparatus will receive the image data if it is transmitted in accordance with an ECM mode of operation. The image data is then transmitted in accordance with the ECM mode of operation to the second data communication apparatus.
Abstract:
A facsimile machine includes a first part for emitting a scanning light beam which is used to record information, a second part for rotating a polygon mirror which reflects the scanning light beam, a third part for receiving information from a source and for detecting a communication system Group III (G3) or Group IV (G4) employed to transmit the information from the source, and a fourth part for controlling a rotational speed of the polygon mirror via the second part depending on the communication system detected by the third part.
Abstract:
A data communication method in which a transmitting station divides data into a plurality of data blocks and transmits the data blocks in parallel through a plurality of communication lines, and a receiving station receives the data blocks transmitted from the transmitting station through the plurality of communication lines and composes the data blocks into original data. In the data communication method, it is detected that a new transmission request is present during a parallel data transmission through a plurality of communication lines, one or more of the communication lines are released to continuously use the remaining communication lines for the parallel data transmission in response to the detected new transmission request, and a new data transmission is performed through the released communication line or lines.
Abstract:
A multi-channel and multi-capability facsimile system including N(.gtoreq.2) signal-carrying facsimile channels, an image server means to process, store and retrieve document image information, and a master processing unit to control the process by which information is transferred between a facsimile channel and the image server means, and to enable and disable data compression and expansion document image information that is provided to or received from the facsimile channels. The system: (1) allows visual display of document pages sent and/or received in the resolution in which the document is originally received or generated; (2) allows transmission, receipt and storage of document image information and speech or voice signals; (3) allows control of the destination address and route used for transmitted document and speech infomation, using the DTMF touch tone signaling available with a telephone; (4) supports CCITT group 2, Group 3 and Group 4 standards.
