    摘要: Described embodiments provide for a reassembly system for processing an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell of data into an ATM adaptation layer (AAL) packet. A preprocessor module identifies a first conversation identification of one or more minipackets in the ATM cell, and reassembles the one or more minipackets having the first conversation identification into a portion of the AAL packet. A preprocessor determines if a trigger has occurred. In response to a trigger, the preprocessor sends a portion of the reassembled minipackets having the first conversation identification to a destination processor.

    摘要: Proxy mobile IP provides mobility to a mobile device that is not equipped to perform client mobile IP by moving the mobile IP signaling responsibility from the mobile device into the network. A network element performs the mobile IP signaling on behalf of the mobile device. In one scenario, the mobile device establishes a PPP session with a foreign agent, with no mobile IP signaling on top of the PPP session. The foreign agent then performs mobile IP signaling with the mobile device's home agent to negotiate a proxy mobile IP session for the device. Once the session registration lifetime has been established by the foreign agent and the home agent, the foreign agent communicates the registration lifetime to the mobile device by way of a PPP vendor-specific packet.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for data management through timer compensation in a wireless communication system are provided. In the method, when a data loss occurs at a first point, whether a data loss has occurred previously and so whether a timer is being driven are determined. Whether the driven timer stops or expires at a second point is determined. When the timer stops or expires at the second point, a timer value is compensated for with consideration of a time difference between the first point and the second point. A timer for the data loss of the first point is restarted based on the compensated timer value. Therefore, a delay of a retransmission request time for lost data in an RLC (Radio Link Control) layer may be minimized.
