Abstract: The invention relates to a delay module for a CAN device. The delay module is configured to delay only a single signal change of an RXD signal, wherein the single signal change forms the end of an idle state. Use of the delay module allows a second RXD signal to be generated. The invention further relates to a CAN device comprising two CAN controllers. Each of the two CAN controllers may be provided with one of the two RXD signals. The CAN device may further be configured to detect possible errors based on the decoded bits of the RXD signals. As a result, the CAN device can communicate error-free with both distantly located further CAN devices and closely located further CAN devices, while ensuring a high data rate. The invention also relates to a method for the delay module.

Abstract: A system for controlling equipment at a wellsite includes a surface PLC, a first subsea PLC, a second subsea PLC, a first CAN module, a second CAN module, and a CAN network. The surface PLC is configured to receive a parameter that is measured by a sensor and to transmit a first signal to the first subsea PLC, the second subsea PLC, or both in response to the parameter. The first subsea PLC or the second subsea PLC, or both are configured to transmit a second signal to the first CAN module, the second CAN module, or both in response to the first signal. The first CAN module, the second CAN module, or both are configured to transmit a third signal to the CAN network in response to the second signal. The CAN network is configured to control the equipment in response to the third signal.

Abstract: A method and system for detection of an electric vehicle via a two-line bus includes a detection unit for detecting a presence status of an electric vehicle. The electric vehicle connects to a charger having the detection unit. The detection unit includes a first output for driving a two-line bus, which connects the charger and the electric vehicle; and a first input for receiving signals from the two-line bus. An additional input detects a second bus termination arranged within the electric vehicle through a voltage measurement and/or a current measurement of the two-line bus, wherein detecting the second bus termination is an indication of the presence status of the electric vehicle.

Abstract: The present disclosure refers to a system for providing a sequence of nodes in a single pair network, like a PoDL network. The nodes of the network are connected in series by a single pair cable comprising two conductors, and the nodes comprise means for providing a short circuit to the two conductors. The system comprises a unit for sending a short circuit signal to a node causing the node to provide the short circuit, a unit for receiving a sequence determination signal from the node providing the short circuit, wherein the signal is indicative of a position of the node, and a unit for determining a sequence of a plurality of nodes based on the signals of the plurality of nodes. Accordingly, the system allows to determine the sequence accurately in an easy manner.

Abstract: A user station is described. The user station includes a communication control device for transmitting and/or receiving messages to/from a bus of a serial bus system, a format switchover checking unit for checking whether the communication control devices of the bus system have switched over the format of the messages from a first format in a first communication phase to a second format for a second communication phase, and a transceiver device which, for transmitting in the first format, generates a first bus state for a first digital data state of the messages and a second bus state for the second digital data state of the messages so that the second bus state can overwrite the first bus state. The transceiver device, for transmitting in the second format, generates different bus states so that the bus states for the different digital data states of the messages cannot overwrite one another.

Abstract: An overlap detection unit for a user station of a serial bus system. The overlap detection unit includes a collision detection block for detecting bus states on a bus of the bus system, in which, in order to transmit a message, bus states of user stations of the bus system are generated on the bus with a first physical layer in a first communication phase, and are generated with a second physical layer in a second communication phase, the second physical layer being different from the first physical layer. The collision detection block generates a signal whose value indicates whether or not the bus states in the second communication phase have a level that corresponds to an overlap of the first and second physical layers or an overlap of two second physical layers, and the collision detection block is designed to output the signal for the user station.
