    摘要: An apparatus for damping the ringing effects across the output terminals of a read/write circuit during write operation is described. The present invention introduces a first continuous damping resistance across the inductive load of the read/write head during the write operation, and automatically removes the damping resistance during the read operation. The circuit of the present invention also allows for a second damping resistance suitable for read mode attenuation to be placed directly across the output terminals. The equivalent damping resistance during the write mode is then the resistance of the second damping resistor in parallel with the resistance of the first damping resistor. The damping resistance causes exponential damping of the ringing signal elements, thereby reducing the settling time of the circuit and increasing the operating frequency range.

    摘要: An improved driver design including a plurality of NPN bipolar driver transistors connected in an H configuration including at least one bipolar upper drive transistor. A novel circuit is included for driving the upper NPN bipolar driver transistor. In a particular implementation, the circuit for driving the upper bipolar drive transistor is adapted to sense the output of the drive transistor and regulate a voltage at the input thereof in response thereto to keep the drive transistor out of saturation. Thus, power dissipation is minimized by using an H configuration and high speed is afforded by using bipolar drive transistors and by keeping the drive transistors out of saturation.

    摘要: The circuit includes four transistors, each transistor being connected at its emitter to a different one of four switches arranged in a bridge configuration. The four transistors are paired, each pair including a first transistor connected at its emitter to the collector of the second transistor. The conduction of the first transistor of one pair and of the second transistor of the other pair is controlled by the same signal and the conduction of the second transistor of said one pair and the first transistor of the other pair is controlled by the complement of said signal. The two transistors of each pair produce complementary signals at their emitters and conduct current for all signal conditions.

    摘要: A circuit is disclosed for reversing the current through an inductive element, such as a coil of a magnetic recording head used for digital recording, wherein two pairs of translating devices, such as transistors, are utilized with the inductive element being connected between a first device of each pair so that current flows from a first operating voltage source in opposite directions through the inductive element depending upon which device is conductive. The second device of the respective pairs is turned on when the current through the inductive element is to be reversed so as to connect a second operating voltage source to the inductive element and cause the rapid reversal of current therethrough.
