Abstract: A power supply control part supplies offset voltages from power supplies to each of signal wires at start time and then, after a predetermined delay time period, supplies a reference voltage from a power supply. A series resistor circuit of resistor elements is provided in each signal wire and a resistor element is connected between a supply node of the offset voltage and an input terminal of the series resistor circuit. A resistor element is connected between the supply node of reference voltage and the output terminal of the series resistor circuit provided in the signal wire of a high-potential side. A comparison logic part detects a disconnection of the signal wire based on a voltage developed at the input terminal of itself during the delay time.

Abstract: Circuits and techniques are described for detecting a ground fault leak between the PSE and the PD. Prior to PoDL voltage being applied to the PD, a test switch is temporarily closed for sensing a voltage drop in a loop between the positive terminal of the PSE voltage source and any ground leakage path between the PSE and the PD. If the resistance of the ground leakage path is below a certain threshold, a fault is declared. A similar test may be performed without a test switch by supplying a known test current through the loop and sensing the voltage drop. Another test is to connect the positive terminal of the PSE voltage source to the loop and sense the resulting current. After the full PoDL voltage is applied to the PD, a ground fault may be detected by sensing the equivalence between the source and return PSE currents.

Abstract: A power distribution unit including a base, at least one socket, and at least one detecting unit is provided. The socket is disposed at the base and has a power end and a ground end. Abstract: A system, method and apparatus may comprise a wafer having a plurality of spiral test structures located on the kerf of the wafer. The spiral test structure may comprise a spiral connected at either end by a capacitor to allow the spiral test structure to resonate. The spiral structures may be located on a first metal layer or on multiple metal layers. The system may further incorporate a test apparatus having a frequency transmitter and a receiver. The test apparatus may be a sensing spiral which may be placed over the spiral test structures. A controller may provide a range of frequencies to the test apparatus and receiving the resonant frequencies from the test apparatus. The resonant frequencies will be seen as reductions in signal response at the test apparatus.
