摘要: In a photodetection unit 100 according to one aspect of the present invention, a photomultiplier 1 and a voltage divider board 132 are electrically connected to each other through a flexible wiring board 120, whereby the photomultiplier 1 can freely set its orientation and achieve a high degree of freedom of installation. In addition, in a voltage divider 130, an insulating resin 136 within a resin case 134 covers around the voltage divider board 132, thereby improving a voltage withstand performance of the voltage divider board 132. This eases restrictions on conditions under which the voltage divider board 132 is installed, whereby the degree of freedom of installation of the photodetection unit 100 is further improved as a whole, which makes it applicable to wider uses.

摘要: A voidless CMH lamp and a method of making such a lamp are provided. The CMH lamp includes a lamp body that receives at least one end plug. The end plug is constructed from a core of cermet material received within an outer layer of a ceramic material. An electrode is placed into the cermet material. The application of heat causes the cermet material to contract and eliminate voids between the lamp and cermet material. Co-sintering of the lamp, core, and outer layer provides a hermetic seal without necessarily using e.g., a sealing frit. Sintering of the ceramic material surrounding the cermet can be also used to improve light output and photometric performance of the lamp. The creation of one or more openings or recesses in the end plug can also provide performance improvements.

摘要: It is a method for manufacturing a plasma display panel having a discharge space, and a protective layer opposed to the discharge space. A gas containing a reducing organic gas is introduced into the discharge space, and the protective layer is exposed to the reducing organic gas. Then, the reducing organic gas is emitted from the discharge space. Then, a discharge gas is enclosed in the discharge space. The protective layer contains at least a first metal oxide and a second metal oxide. Furthermore, the protective layer has at least one peak in an X-ray diffraction analysis. The peak exists between a first peak of the first metal oxide in the X-ray diffraction analysis, and a second peak of the second metal oxide in the X-ray analysis. The first peak and the second peak show the same surface orientation as a surface orientation shown by the peak.

The photomultiplier comprises an enclosure having an inside kept in a vacuum state, whereas a photocathode emitting electrons in response to incident light, an electron multiplier section multiplying in a cascading manner the electron emitted from the photocathode, and an anode for taking out a secondary electron generated in the electron multiplier section are arranged in the enclosure. A part of the enclosure is constructed by a glass substrate having a flat part, whereas each of the electron multiplier section and anode is two-dimensionally arranged on the flat part in the glass substrate.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a high intensity electron emitting device using a boron lanthanum compound thin film are provided. Sputtered particles of a low work function substance target are accumulated on a second substrate disposed an electron emitting base member. By using a mask for screening the electron emitting base member region opening other regions, the deposition of a low work function substance on the second substrate is etched, and after that, the second substrate and the first substrate disposed with the phosphor are sealed by a sealing agent to fabricate a vacuum chamber. During the fabrication step thereof, the first and second substrates are consistently maintained in a vacuum atmosphere or a reduced pressure.

摘要: A housing for microelectronic devices requiring an internal vacuum for operation, e.g., an image detector, is formed by tape casting and incorporates leads between interior and exterior of said housing where said leads are disposed on a facing surface of green tape layers. Adjacent green tape layers having corresponding apertures therein are stacked on a first closure member to form a resulting cavity and increased electrical isolation or channel sub-structures are achievable by forming adjacent layers with aperture dimension which vary non-monotonically. After assembly of the device within the cavity, a second closure member is sealed against an open face of the package in a vacuum environment to produce a vacuum sealed device.

摘要: A radiation window device to transmit radiation as part of an x-ray source or detector includes a support to be subject to a substantial vacuum, and an opening configured to transmit radiation. A film is mounted directly on the support across the opening, and has a material and a thickness selected to transmit soft x-rays. An adhesive directly adheres the film to the support. A coating covers exposed portions of at least one of the evacuated or ambient sides of the film, and covers a portion of the support surrounding the film. The support, film and adhesive form a vacuum tight assembly capable of maintaining the substantial vacuum when one side is subject to the substantial vacuum. In addition, the vacuum tight assembly can withstand a temperature of greater than approximately 250 degrees Celsius.

摘要: A glass tube (1) that is used in such a manner that an end face thereof is hermetically and firmly bonded to a surface of a panel (11) of a flat display tube so as to cover a ventilation hole (12) which is formed in the panel (11), the glass tube (1) including a flange portion (4) formed by heating work of the glass tube (1) and provided on an outer periphery near the end face on a side firmly bonded to the surface of the panel (11) of the flat display tube. When the flange portion (4) is formed, a tube end portion (2) protruding ahead of the flange portion (4) is left, so that a flange portion (4) face on a side facing the surface of the panel (11) of the flat display tube allows a frit glass (6) to be placed thereon, the frit glass (6) having a height equal to an interval (an outer peripheral face of the tube end portion) between the end face of the glass tube and the flange portion (4) face, which enables stable bonding of the glass tube (1) to the surface of the panel (11) of the flat display tube.
