Abstract:
An input mechanism is disclosed. The input mechanism includes a dome support structure defining an opening that extends through the dome support structure, a collapsible dome positioned in the opening and engaged with the dome support structure, and a cover member coupled to the dome support structure and covering the collapsible dome, thereby retaining the collapsible dome within the opening of the dome support structure.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing input component assemblies for dome switches are provided. In some embodiments, an input component assembly may include a first conductive contact pad coupled to a first board of a switch, a second conductive contact pad coupled to a second board of the switch, and a layer of conductive adhesive between the first conductive pad and the second conductive pad, where the layer is operative to provide a seal for the switch.
Abstract:
A data input device includes an input unit including at least one selection segment that runs an inputs in response to selection by a finger and a sensing unit that has at least one sensing means that detects the selection in response to the selection for predetermined position of the input unit and generates an input signal, and which is provided to perform the input of the data assigned to an input value set in the input signal. Accordingly, it is possible to easily and rapidly perform the input of various data by a structure of the selection segment in which data is inputted by means of intuitive selecting action of the finger respect to a reference position, one side or the other side of the reference position, and which is provided to respond to the selection of one finger.
Abstract:
A touch switch including: at least two of operation faces provided side by side; a detection electrode provided in each of the operation faces and including a wiring pattern of an electric conductor formed on or immediately below the operation face; and a controller connected to each of the detection electrodes to perform a switching operation by detecting variations of capacitance sensed by each of the detection electrodes, the variation of capacitance being generated when a human body part is in proximity to or in contact with each of the operation faces. At least one of the detection electrodes includes a wiring pattern more sparsely formed in a vicinity area of a boundary with another operation face adjacent thereto compared to a wiring pattern of the detection electrode provided in the adjacent operation face. Therefore, detection errors or accidental operations between adjacent switches can be prevented from happening.
Abstract:
A multi-mode keyboard for a portable electronic device is provided. The keyboard comprising: a layer of flexible transparent touch sensors for receiving touch input; a layer of flexible output device; and a dome sheet for receiving key click input.
Abstract:
An in-mold molding touch module includes a plastic film, a touch circuit and a molding rind. The plastic film includes an inner surface and an outer surface for handling and touching. At least one region of the inner surface and a corresponding region of the outer surface define a touch area. The touch circuit is arranged on the inner surface in the touch area. The molding rind is integrated on the inner surface by an in-mold injecting mode to contain the touch circuit for forming a one-piece body. In addition, the invention also provides a method for manufacturing an in-mold molding touch module.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus include detecting a first touch meeting a first threshold, which first touch is detected on a first physical key and displaying, without entering, at least a first character associated with the first physical key in an information entry field on an electronic device in response to the detecting.
Abstract:
A membrane touch control panel includes a number of female conductors disposed on the basic layer and each having a number of electrodes electrically connected and coupled together, and each having an opening formed in each electrode, and a number of male conductors having a number of electrodes electrically connected and coupled together and received and engaged in the openings of the female electrodes respectively for forming a number of switch members, the membrane touch control panel includes a structure or configuration to be easily and quickly manufactured with greatly reduced manufacturing cost and procedures.
Abstract:
A keypad assembly includes a keypad cover, a printed circuit board and a sensing module. The sensing module is arranged between the keypad cover and the printed circuit board. The sensing module is used to sense touches of a user's finger on the keypad cover. A portable electronic device equipped with the keypad assembly is also described.
Abstract:
A protection panel for detecting an X-Y coordinate as an operation position from a potential gradient based on a touch operation to a front substrate is provided. A rear substrate (5) has a first transparent resistive film (5A) and a contact point (5G) connected to a pair of first terminals (5D) through routing circuits (5C) so that the contact point (5G) is arranged in parallel with the first transparent resistive film (5A). When the rear substrate (5) and a front substrate (6) are connected, the contact point (5G) and an expanded region (6Ab) of a second transparent resistive film (6A) on the front substrate (6), which are arranged opposingly with a predetermined gap, form a switch (12) for detecting a contact therebetween, based on a voltage detected in the terminals (6D,5D) of one of the rear substrate (5) and the front substrate (6) when a voltage is applied between the terminals (5D,6D) of the other.
