Abstract: The present disclosure provides apparatuses and methods for bulb detection for a lighting control system. The apparatus includes a lighting control module configured to cause a transmission of a quantity of electrical energy to a lighting circuit of a light fixture electrically connected to the lighting control module. The apparatus includes a detector circuit positioned in the lighting control module. The detector circuit is configured to measure a response of the lighting circuit to the transmission of the quantity of electrical energy. The apparatus also includes a controller in electrical communication with the detector circuit. The controller is specially programmed to correlate the quantity of electrical energy transmitted to the lighting circuit to the response of the lighting circuit. The controller is further programmed to determine the bulb type of a bulb electrically coupled to the lighting circuit of the light fixture.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling the amount of power delivered to an electrical load from an AC power source provides improved sensory feedback to a user of the load control device. The load control device comprises a touch screen actuator having a touch sensitive front surface responsive to a plurality of point actuations, each characterized by a position and a force. The touch screen actuator has an output operatively coupled to a controller for providing a control signal representative of the position of the point actuation. The load control device further comprises a visual display and an audible sound generator, both responsive to the controller. The controller is operable to cause the visual display to illuminate and the audible sound generator to generate an audible sound in response to the control signal of the touch screen actuator.

Abstract: An apparatus for selective backlighting individual transluscent keys of a terminal keyboard includes a horizontal, double-sided printed circuit board having a number of right angle LEDs equal to the number of backlit keys mounted on its bottom surface. A plurality of clearance holes in the printed circuit board admit a plurality of vertical light pipes that are integral with a transparent substrate. Integral alignment bosses on a bottom surface of the substrate fit precisely in corresponding holes of the printed circuit board. Each light pipe has a rectangular cross section and a 45 degree inclined bottom surface. A horizontal light beam emitted by a LED passes through a vertical wall of a light pipe, strikes its inclined bottom surface, and is reflected up through the light pipe into a recess within a key. The substrate supports a rubber sheet in which the keys are molded and a switch contact layer with printed conductors thereon. Depression of a key presses a conductive shorting pad against the printed conductors, actuating a switch.

Abstract: A transmission shift lever mounted controller for a snow plow or winch for a motor vehicle. The controller may be made of a flexible housing that slips over the top of the transmission shift lever as a cover. The controller carries switches to control the plow or winch on the transmission shift lever. This allows the operator to control both the snow plow or winch and the transmission shift lever at without having to move his/her hand back and forth between the two. The controller also allows control of the snow plow or winch and the transmission shift lever simultaneously.

Abstract: There is disclosed an improved switch panel (SP), e.g. for use in automotive vehicles or electronic/electrical apparatus such as white goods or keypads. Modern switch panels, particularly in cars/automobiles, are provided with an increasing number of electronic controls and equipment. A problem has therefore arisen in that a driver/passenger/user can easily become confused when presented with an array of control switches. The invention therefore provides a switch panel (SP) having a panel member (P) and at least one switch member (S), wherein the panel member (P) has a first appearance when front lit, and at least one second appearance when at least a portion thereof is back lit. The back lighting is provided by illumination means controlled by the at least one switch member (S). Abstract: Upward urging force by operation force of a tact switch and restoring force of a rubber body are applied to an operation body via a pressing body. Then, pressing operation of a push button section causes the operation body to press down the rear ends of left and right sections of the pressing body. This follows that, with both contact sections in contact with a step section functioning as the support points, an operation section on the front end of the pressing body is pressed up to turn on the tact switch. In this process, when the push button section is pressed, the center of rotation of the operation body is changed depending on which portion of the push button section is pressed, causing the distance between a pressed portion of the operation body and the center of the rotation are almost equal independent of which portion is pressed. As a result, the load to operate the push button section is substantially equalized independent of which portion of the operation body is pressed. Also, the load to operate the operation body can be changed as desired by changing the position of the step section which is to be in contact with both contact sections functioning as the support point for the pressing body.

Abstract: A luminous keyboard with a gaming function includes a gaming program, plural keys, plural light-emitting elements and a control unit. When one of the plural keys is pressed down, a corresponding pressing signal is generated. When one of the plural light-emitting elements is turned on to emit a light beam, the corresponding key is illuminated. The control unit is connected with the plural keys, the plural light-emitting elements and the gaming program. The control unit turns on or turns off the plural light-emitting elements according to settings of the gaming program. Alternatively, the control unit turns off the light-emitting element corresponding to the illuminated key when the control unit receives the pressing signal corresponding to the illuminated key. In such way, the luminous keyboard can be used to play a game.
